Discretion The Better Part Of Valour

1. The Weirdness of Atheism. When one stops to think about the dynamics and implications of Atheism as a religion (‘belief-system’) one stands amazed at the absurdity and weirdness of it, i.e. something that should rather have been the domain of the less informed citizenry of the world, has amazingly actually become the province of those at the vanguard of academia and scientific endeavour. The Apostle Paul was, apparently, not wholly unfamiliar with the phenomenon. He writes about the unbelievers of his day:

“For the invisible things of him [GOD] from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse … Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools.” [Romans1:20,22].

2. The “God is dead!” mantra. Scientifically speaking, this stance is particularly puzzling, as scientists by their own admission concede that they only know about 5% of what is going on in the Universe with the rest (95%) constituting ‘undetectable by scientific instruments dark matter + dark energy’; they also concede that they know only about 10% of what is going on in our own oceans ... all of this hardly the kind of knowledge-base to establish an ideology as inexact and fuzzy as 'Atheism' upon ... and with such an inordinate store of confidence too.

3. The “God is evil!” mantra. How God can be both ‘dead’ and ‘evil’ at the same time boggles the mind; but, I assume that, being as ‘empirically’ thorough as they usually are, the atheists nevertheless issue these types of imposing philosophical pronouncements with a considerable measure of scientific circumspection and academic judiciousness.

More disconcerting is the notion from certain atheistic quarters that ‘there is no such thing as good or evil, only thinking that makes it so’ that appears to contradict the ‘God is evil’ notion. After all, were there really no such things as good and evil, then why do atheists complain about the ‘unfairness’ (evil!) of prayer and Bible-readings in public schools?

4. The “We cannot see God!” mantra. Jesus Christ is very clear about this issue:

“Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.” [Matthew5:8].

   This begs some valid questions:

► Are God-hating and God-profaning atheists pure in heart?

► Is it not indeed possible for God to be obscured from their view and the observations of their scientific instruments in the 90% they still not know about the oceans of planet earth, or in the 95% they still do not yet know about the Cosmos?

► Even had 100% of the Cosmos been 'visible' (observable) to the atheists, what makes them think they would detect God’s presence even then even with he best of technologies in existence … one would not search for Henry Ford in the engine of a Ford automobile. I thus find it incredible that atheists can be so grossly deluded that they deserve an audience with God at all when even Moses, when he pleaded with God to see His glory, has had to be satisfied with only a fleeting glimpse of God's back parts while at the same time being cautioned by God that no man could see God and live. [Exodus 33:18-23].

5. The Better Part of Valour. Should atheists refuse to repent and turn to God along familiar, traditional ways, it is recommended that atheists then (in the meantime)  at least accept the veracity of the Bible and the existence of God in good faith until such a time the contrary is proved instead of accepting Atheism in blind faith until the contrary has been proved. The Apostle Paul has given some excellent advice in this regard:

" ... without faith it is impossible to please him [GOD]: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is [EXISTS], and that he [GOD] is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him." [Hebrews11:6].

Creationism vs. Atheism: Where Richard Dawkins Has Lost His Way

1. Freedom of Religion. Man was created a free moral agent and in terms of the principle of the freedom of religion, anyone, including Richard Dawkins (RD), is free to pursue his religion-of-choice as he sees fit, which, in his case, is the religion or belief-system of Atheism.

2. Where RD has lost his way. The hosts or stewards of Richard Dawkins Quotes, i.e. ‘Good-Reads’, quotes RD as saying in his book, The God Delusion:

“The God of the Old Testament is arguably the most unpleasant character in all fiction: jealous and proud of it; a petty, unjust, unforgiving control-freak; a vindictive, bloodthirsty ethnic cleanser; a misogynistic, homophobic, racist, infanticidal, genocidal, filicidal, pestilential, megalomaniacal, sadomasochistic, capriciously malevolent bully.”

3. RD’s remarks about God is most disconcerting, even frightening.

3.1 God a 'fictional character'? RD’s reference to the Old Testament God (the YHWH or Jehovah of Moses & Mt. Sinai) as a ‘fictional character’ is academically disingenuous; had God really been ‘fictional;’ such vitriolic remarks as his (the 'adult' version of a temper tantrum) would have been most inappropriate for a scientist of his stature. Here's the deal: Atheists hate God (and Christians and devout Jews love and fear Him) because God is HOLY, and not because He is 'dead' or 'evil'.

3.2 Absolute Truth? Atheists, the proponents of moral relativism & situational ethics, do not believe in Absolute Truth (i.e. or in God, the epitome of Absolute Truth) except for the ‘absolute truth’ of Atheism. If there is then no such thing as ‘Absolute Truth’, how can RD know that his Atheism is true?

3.3 Taking God's Name in vain. Were God really a ‘fictional character’ (sic) RD would have had no problem, but with his profane and blasphemous outbursts he has (as it were) taken on the august “I AM!” of Moses & Mt. Sinai, who has warned:

“You shall not take the name of Jehovah your God in vain. For Jehovah will not hold him guiltless that takes His name in vain.” [Exodus20:7].

P.S. Not even the Pharaoh of the Exodus, in his debates, arguments and diatribes with Moses over the political status of the 'Children of Israel' (or the absence of it) has dared to use such language toward God; yet he still ended up with ten plagues and with the last plague the death of his eldest son. Maybe RD should tread a little more cautious when approaching the Creator who has made this majestic Universe and who holds life and death in His hands.

3.4 Cursing the Jew (Abraham). By insulting and blaspheming the God of the Christian but particularly the Jew (by cursing the God of the Jew and of Moses) RD has invoked another problem of monumental proportions, for to Abraham, the father of the Jewish nation and Israel, God has promised:

“And I will bless those that bless you and curse the one who curses you … ” [Genesis12:3a].

3.5 Rejecting the Pearl of Great Price. By rejecting God’s loving offer of Salvation through the Gospel of Jesus Christ, RD is rejecting a priceless (‘never to be repeated after death’) offer and, like Judas Iscarioth, is flinging away the ultimate pearl of great price. The Bible warns:

“He who despised Moses' Law died without mercy on the word of two or three witnesses. Of how much worse punishment, do you suppose, will he be thought worthy of punishment, the one who has trampled the Son of God, and who has counted the blood of the covenant with which he was sanctified an unholy thing, and has insulted the Spirit of grace?” [Hebrews-10:28-29].

4. Omar Khayyam. A wise man from the East and a famous mathematician and philosopher, i.e. Omar Khayyam (1048-1131) once wrote:

"The moving finger writes and having writ moves on;
Not all your piety or wit shall lure it back to cancel half-a-line,
Nor al your tears wash out a word of it."

Crossroads: Why All The Public Violence?

1. Two Major Options To Choose From. Governments and countries often may come before a fork ('bifurcation') in the road at a juncture in history where only two main paths and trends are to be considered, i.e. between the Secular Humanist forces threatening to draw liberals down the vortex of fullblown pagan Leftism and the Conservative Right trying to restore Law & Order and revitalize, resuscitate time-tested Judeo-Christian values without coming across as dysfunctionally 'dictatorial' or classically ‘draconian’.

2. An Uncanny Resemblance. The rioting, looting, destruction, anarchy & arson we often see in public (e.g. the USA, South Africa and elsewhere) is observed with concern, as it resembles forces, behaviours and conduct so reminiscent of some of the symptoms of classical ‘psychopathy’. Wikipedia identifies three observable characteristics of ‘Psychopathy’ based on e.g. the Psychopathy Checklist and the PPI (Psychopathic Personality Inventory):

BOLDNESS. Low fear including stress-tolerance, toleration of unfamiliarrity and danger, and high self-confidence and social assertiveness. The PCL-R measures this relatively poorly and mainly through Facet 1 of Factor 1. Similar to PPI Fearless dominance. May correspond to differences in the amygdala and other neurological systems associated with fear.”

DISINHIBITION. Poor impulse control including problems with planning and foresight, lacking affect and urge control, demand for immediate gratification, and poor behavioral restraints. Similar to PCL-R Factor 2 and PPI Impulsive anti-sociality. May correspond to impairments in frontal lobe systems that are involved in such control.”

MEANNESS.Lacking empathy and close attachments with others, disdain of close attachments, use of cruelty to gain empowerment, exploitative tendencies, defiance of authority, and destructive excitement seeking. The PCL-R in general is related to this but in particular some elements in Factor 1. Similar to PPI, but also includes elements of sub-scales in impulsive anti-sociality.” [Wikipedia, ‘Psychopathy’].

3. State Capture (RSA). In South Africa we have seen these traits amply demonstrated by:

- the 'Zupta-driven state capture for nine lost years' (and longer through Covid-19 lockdowns!) in government circles on a pandemic scale when a classical 'liberation movement' (ANC) tried in vain to install a legitimate government and initiate a democratic regime  founded on crony-deployment instead of on professionalism, and, in so doing, 'liberating' its citizens from the frying pan of apartheid straight into the fire of state capture ... the largest mugging if its taxpayers and the fiscus in the modern 370-year history of the country, not having learned that 'two wrongs never make a right';

- the scandalous and devastating 'great VBS bank-heist' (an employee-driven 'inside job');

- the recently wholesale looting in some major metropolitian centres of the country when shops were looted and vandalised, infrastructure razed and collateral destroyed (and hundreds murdered) in broad daylight with police standing helplessly by, apparently under the duress of stupefied under-resourcement and/or political apathy, with incredulous international television audiences looking on amazed and dazed by the impertinence, with police allowing the looters all the leeway they needed for a great day of affirmative shopping to the laughable 'background music' of one prominent politicians' son request for those looters to "please loot responsibly!"

A wise man has once said:

“And to man He said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom! And to depart from evil is understanding!” (Job28:28).

Creative Evolution? You Must Be Joking!

1. Geologic Column. The request, “Show us a hole or incision in the ground that depicts the ‘Geologic Column’ (‘Geologic Time Scale’) exactly as it is supposed to look like as depicted on Evolutionists’ wall-charts or in their textbooks and encyclopaedias,” seems to have fallen on deaf ears. Does the ‘Geologic Column’ even exist, or is it pure conjecture, i.e. a theoretical construct from the minds of the Evolutionists hell-bent on proving something that doesn’t exist?

2. Mrs. Ples (Sterkfontein/Maropeng, South Africa). According to sources, Mrs./Mr. /Ms. Ples, a ‘hominid’ skull found at the Sterkfontein Caves South Africa) is ‘2.05 million years’ old. [Wikipedia].
Using an arbitrary figure of 70 years per generation, the gap between Mrs. Ples and today’s generation of humans there theoretically could have been 29 285 generations of her species over the period; at an arbitrary 40 years per generation, there could have been as many as 51 250 generations of her species over the period.
Question: Where are the absent and missing fossils representing the guesstimated 29 285 or 51 250 transitional stages between Mrs. Ples and today’s generation? Also: Where is the evidence that Mrs. Ples was even ‘married’ or that she had ever had any offspring; and how come Nature preserved her skull but not the rest (probably millions of fossil fragments) of others still missing?

3. Creative Evolution. The critical difference between Classical (Atheistic) Darwinism and Creative (Theistic) Evolution is that the first supports the idea that ‘Evolution’ occurred by random and spontaneous accident without the interference or help of an ‘Intelligent Designer’ (Creator), while the second supports the idea that ‘Evolution’ happened with the help of an Intelligent Designer (Creator). Do the math:

3.1 Should Classical (Atheistic) Darwinism be found to be correct (valid) then Creative Evolution will not fly as it needs God in its equation to qualify as a viable theory.

3.2 Should Classical (Atheistic) Darwinism be found to be incorrect (invalid) then Creative Evolution will again not fly, as it needs ‘Evolution’ in its equation to qualify as a viable theory.

Cosmos Or Chaos?

1. Definining Cosmos & Chaos.

Cosmos: “The word is generally used to suggest an orderly or harmonious universe, as it was originally used by Pythagoras in the 6th century B.C.” [Merriam-Webster].

Chaos: “A confused mass or mixture … A state of things in which chance is supreme especially: the con-fused unorganized state of primordial matter before the creation of distinct forms … the inherent un predictability in the behavior of a complex natural system …” [Merriam-Webster].

2. What Christians believe. Christians believe in Life-after-Death and that God (i.e. the ‘YHWH’ of Moses and Mt. Sinai) created, maintains and manages the Universe (i.e. the ‘orderly and harmonious Cosmos’):

“Who has measured the waters in the hollow of his hand, and measured out the heavens with a span? And who has shut up the dust of the earth in a measure, and weighed the mountains in scales, and the hills in a balance? … I have made the earth and created man on it; I with My hands have stretched out the heavens; and all their host have I commanded.” [Isaiah40:12; 45:12].

3. What Atheist-Evolutionists ('Scientific Pantheists') believe. Atheist-evolutionists (scientific pantheists) ‘believe’ (!) in Death-after-Death and that the Universe (the ‘Chaos’, they should say) was created and is managed and maintained by the sheer serendipitous accident and random chance of ‘natural forces’ without any specific intelligently-designed reason or purpose in mind and without the help of any so-called ‘Intelligent Designer’ or ‘Almighty Creator’ (God).

4. Biogenesis vs. Spontaneous Regeneration. Christians thus support the idea of biogenesis i.e. (perishable) ‘BIOS’ life driven and upheld by God’s pre-existing (imperishable) ‘ZOE’ Life. Thanks to God’s ‘ZOE’ life, Jesus Christ was raised from the dead within only three days, whereas evolutionists, after millions of years of so-called ‘evolution’ and centuries of the study of ‘Darwinism’, can still (at best) only promise us (i) Death-after-Death and (ii) a 100% mortality rate for all forms of life for every generation alive on earth and with no better promise forthcoming.

Come Into The Ark!

1. Answers In Genesis Ark-Exhibition. When Ken Ham (Answers In Genesis) opened his Ark-Exhibition on 7 July 2016, many rejoiced, but some (including those from the so-called Free dom from Religion Foundation) reportedly still scoffed. These postmodernist geniuses failed to notice the irony … it was the ancient Noah phenomenon playing out all over again, a sure portend of things to come and a validation of the Biblical warning where Jesus has warned:

“But as the days of Noah, so also will be the coming of the Son of Man. For as they were in the days before the flood eating, and drinking, marrying, and giving in mar-riage, until the day when Noah went in-to the ark. And they did not know until the flood came and took all away. So also will be the coming of the Son of Man." [Matthew24:37-39HRB].

P.S. Today, the invitation still stands: “Come into the Ark and be saved ... tomorrow may be too late!"

2. That Ark is the Name of JESUS CHRIST as presented in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The Apostle Peter says:

“Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole. This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner. Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved." [Acts4:10-12].

3. Many still erroneously believe that Jesus Christ has come to condemn sinners to Hell. That malicious rumour is not true. Jesus has said:

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only-begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but so that the world might be saved through Him.” [John 3:16-17].

4. The Invitation still stands. “Come to Me all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke on you and learn of Me, for I am meek and lowly in heart, and you shall find rest to your souls." [Matthew11:28-29].

Classical (Atheistic) Darwinism Or Creative (Theistic) Evolutionism?

1. Classical (Atheistic) Darwinism or Creative (Theistic) Evolutionism? Are these two worldviews really different? Why can’t both cohabit peacefully in the world of intellectuals and perambulate in tandem over the symposium landscape of academia without all these vexing questions? The truth is that these two major branches of Evolutionary Theory are complete opposites in ideology, forever mutually exclusive and doctrinally incompatible. I do not support either of these two worldviews.

2. Classical (Atheistic) Darwinism. This worldview operates from the point-of-departure that:

- there is no God, Intelligent Designer or Supreme Creator involved in the creation, managing and maintenance of the Cosmos

- ‘Evolution’ happened/happens spontaneously by random accident without any outside help or a specific cosmic purpose

- the Bible is not true or valuable, there is no Life after Death, no Gospel and no God and Jesus Christ to forgive sins.

3. Creative (Theistic) Evolutionism. This worldview attempts the impossible, i.e. to forge an unholy matrimony between (i) Classical (Atheistic) Darwinism and the (ii) Genesis Creation Record, with its hybrid brainchild, ‘Creative Evolution’. These two major branches of ‘Evolu-tion, however, are totally incompatible and mutually exclusive, so they anyway cannot both be right (valid) at the same time. Some notes:

3.1 The literature (including websites, lectures on YouTube, debates, books etc.) refuting Classical (Atheistic) Darwinism are bountiful and readily available.

3.2 As far as Creative (Theistic) Evolutionism is concerned, simple logic has shown that it cannot be correct (valid), for instance:

   (a) Scenario #1: Should Classical (Atheistic) Darwinism ever be found to have been correct (valid), then Creative Evolution cannot be correct (valid) because it needs a Creator (God) in its equation to qualify as a viable theory, a requirement forbidden by Classical (Atheistic) Darwinism.

   (b) Scenario #2: Should Classical (Atheistic) Darwinism ever be found to have been incorrect (invalid), then Creative Evolution canonce again not be correct (valid) because it needs ‘Evolution’ in its equation as a viable theory, cancelled out by Classical (Atheistic) Darwinism being incorrect.

4. For the Record. The author supports Biblical Creationism (read all about in this blog).

Cleopatra: Queen Of Denial

1. As in the Days of Noah. It would appear as if mankind has entered a phase in history that could, at best, be described as ‘reckless’, a phase reminiscent of the days of Noah and Elijah in old Israel. For instance is life these days being redefined by ‘men-of-science’ in white dust-coats donning thick glasses, i.e. men who breathe the atmosphere of methylated spirits, ether and secular humanist literature almost every day and who defiantly read Russell, Darwin, Marx, Voltaire, Paine, Gould, Huxley, Hawking, Nye and Dawkins. Their biggest enemies? The theologians, evangelicals and Christian apologists, missionaries, preachers, Christian authors and pastors who daily breathe the atmosphere of prayer, consecration and the study of the Holy Scriptures.

2. Scientific Pantheism? These architects of the modern, suburban religious-cult of atheism-evolutionism ('scientific pantheism') have declared God either 'evil', ‘dead’ and/or ‘obsolete’, while denying e.g. any idea of intelligent design, an Intelligent Designer and/or any Moral Absolutes. In this era of deadly pandemics and the Coronavirus scourge it still has not dawned on them that those geniuses who may have developed a vaccine for the virus in time for January 2019 probably already may have perished in an ungodly abortion mill back in 1980. Driven by a resolute, non-negotiable faith in their de facto ‘messiah’, Charles Darwin, they (metaphorically speaking) adamantly insist on worshipping at the shrine of Evolution, their (alternative) blind, dumb, brainless ‘creator-of-choice’of the Universe by the mysterious alchemy of random biological accident and pure statistical chance over ‘billions of years’.

3. The Unholy Triumvirate. Whereas Evangelical Christians have embraced the worship of the Holy Trinity  (the Father, Son and Holy Spirit), the scientific pantheists (atheist-evolutionists) have settled for the mediocre Plan B, i.e. the worship at the shrine of the unholy triumvirate of Father TIME (for 'billions' and 'millions' of years), Mother NATURE (for the miracles of adaption, natural selection & speciation) and Charles DARWIN, their de facto scientism-driven messiah-of-choice.

4. The Hallmark of the Secular Humanist. The hallmark of the secular humanist is his adamant, blunt denial of the fact of SIN ('Queens of Denial') in society, where phenomena such as immorality and criminality are dismissed as a cultural illusion in favour of their ‘moral relativism’ with the adage: “There is nothing inherently good or bad, but only thinking that makes it so!”

Now, if that were really true, then:

- why does Richard Dawkins say,"Religion is evil!" (?)

- why do aheists, secular humanists and the ACLU object and vehemently complain when pupils bring their Bibles to school and dare to pray on the school premises i.e. if 'there is nothing evil' and 'only thinking that makes it so'?

5. God is Warning them as I write (and as they read!).

“Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! ... Woe unto them that are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight!” [Isaiah5:20-21].

Climbing Mount Golgotha

1. The Prince of Life on a Mission. How did He, a person so used to the majestic beauty, comforts and privileges of His Heavenly home, manage to come down to this vale of tears to die for the sins of the world? Even the demotion of a Lichtenstein prince from his palace to the salt mines of Siberia would not properly describe the heights from which the Prince of Life has had to stoop for our sake; and (to add further insult to injury) has also had to even descend to the lower pits of damnation to take the keys of hell and of death away from His ancient adversary, the Devil.

2. How did He do it? How did He manage to gather the immense moral and spiritual resolve to suffer the cruel Roman scourging, the brutal crown of thorns, the merciless insults and beatings of the Jerusalem riff-raff and finally, the enemy’s pièce de résistance … the Roman cross of crucifixion (hence the word for extreme pain, i.e. ‘excruciating’)? Jesus did, however, warn:

“For the Son of man is come to save that which was lost … For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many … Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.” [Matthew18:11; Mark10:45; John10:11; 15:13].

3. Iron nails of Love. Christ managed to accomplish what no one before Him had ever managed to do by climbing Mount Golgotha to be crucified as God the Father’s ‘paschal lamb’ for the sins of the world, and the chains that had held Him to the rugged cross were not the iron spikes of the executioner, it was the iron nails of His LOVE for a lost mankind and the ultimate JOY of holy anticipation … a salvaged creation!

4. Joy trumped Pain. I recently have read of how a cat had gone into a burning building over and over (five times, with angry fires raging) to save her new little litter of five ... sometimes nature's call to love or nurture has, it would appear, been engraved in our DNA and emblazoned on our hearts by the Holy God in whose image we have been created. In His mind’s eye, Jesus Christ must have been able to see (or at least envisage) the millions of lost souls, widows, orphans and aborted babies (!) futuristically entering Heaven with their bitter tears finally wiped from their faces by God the Father Himself as facilitated by His sacrifice on the cross. The Bible says:

“Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the JOY that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.” [Hebrews12:2].

"For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God ... For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe ... But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness ... Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men." [1Corinthians1:18,21,23,25].
