1. INTRODUCTION. Most people (with access to television and wildlife programmes) probably are acquainted with some (vulnerable) species that rely on 'safety in numbers', for instance in herds of buffalo and wildebeest, or in schools of fishes etc. for protection against predators. Humans, however, do the same as the presence of so many military institutions; political parties & alliances;  economic partnerships, systems & trade agreements (for instance the EU, BRICS countries); lobby groups, crime syndicates, street gangs, riotous mobs and roving  packs of schoolyard bullies prove.
Bear in mind that, as C.S. Lewis has once remarked, the mortality rate for e.g. the human race is 100% for every person alive, and that the huge number of people alive today (more than 7 billion) is no guarantee of safety at all; it is appointed for man once to die and thereafter ... judgment: [Hebrews 9:27]  And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgmentSorry to disappoint some, but there can be no 'reincarnation'.
Likewise the mortality rate for animals, in spite of the great numbers of wildebeest in Serengeti, is 100%; if the crocodile does not catch it, the lion or cheetah will, and, should they fail, old age and the vultures will get him. We can, at best, only hope to delay the 'day of reckoning', but can not postpone if indefinitely.

2. CAPITALISM vs. SOCIALISM. In my article Capitalism Or Socialism: You Decide! (click) I have already shown how neither of the two systems are ideal, for the following reasons:

2.1 The Problem With Socialism.  The problem with socialism is its historical legacy of inefficiency and infamous production constraints (resulting in chronic shortages and long queues in shops) driven by a huge dysfunctional, centralised command-control economic system of a government hell-bent on Marxist ideology.
The nuclear fall-out of this system is the phenomenon where everybody (especially those comrade-bureaucrats in government) are all eagerly jostling for position in the state-machinery from where they somehow can concoct the best deal for themselves with the few resources available … either in hard cash, benefits or perks of some kind. No wonder the first 'liberation-movement' to govern South Africa, the ANC, which has established itself on the very principles most cold-war era liberation-movements were founded upon, i.e. Marxism-Communism, has now finally floundered  on the rocks of (government & big business) fraud, corruption and racketeering on a scale so massive it defies imagination.
As socialism therefore is not a system conducive to spectacular wealth-production, too many (disingenuous & dishonest) people are chasing the few resources, opportunities, advantages and benefits possible in the order, which in turn creates exploitation and corruption on a grand scale in a state where unemployment, economic destitution, mediocre production & service delivery, poverty and privation run rife. Juxtaposed against this one finds the enormity of the top-heavy state-machinery (the secret service, bureaucracy, power-utilities etc.) and the ‘military industrial machinery’ of the police state required to maintain and service law & order (and the ideological status quo).

2.2 The Problem With Capitalism.  Even a cursory glance at the Bible will clearly show that God’s economic-system of choice for mankind at large probably is free-market 'capitalism' ('capitalism' reportedly being a term coined by the first socialists themselves) as all of those Judeo-Christian values as industriousness, diligence in business and trade, the right to private property-ownership (e.g. every man to his own ‘fig tree’ and ‘thou shalt not covet another man’s house, wife or ox’ etc.) i.e. values with which we have been familiar since early childhood, usually are extolled; while, in the New Testament, Jesus of Nazareth even equated the application of entrepreneurial talent & skill (as well as sound investment plus interest on savings) as commendable, responsible stewardship.
The problem with capitalism is that, for the very reason that it is the wealth-producing economic system par excellence, in such a system there usually is a lot of money and wealth to go around and, as socialist countries do not have a monopoly on sin, crime and corrupt people, the criminal and corrupt element in capitalist systems will rear its foul head (in the same way it does in socialist countries) to take advantage of the system; a system in which lucrative bribes, tender collusion, bribery, the pursuit of favours and the proceeds from crime & racketeering are inordinately more rewarding than elsewhere.
In the article Capitalism Or Socialism: You Decide! (click) I explain how Capitalism, though flawed currently the only viable (Biblically supported) system in existence, eventually will have to give way to God's perfect system after the end of this age.

3. SOUTH AFRICAN 'DEMOCRACY'. Greed is colourblind, and will rear its ugly, lice-infested head anytime and anywhere where political or financial expedience may care to beckon, whether it is in Africa, Eastern Europe and Asia, or in the West.
South Africa's democracy is only 25 years old, and in this period the country has (unfortunately) degenerated from its previous position as 'the skunk of the world' (due to its notorious apartheid-past) to where it today has to fund numerous (and prohibitively expensive) commissions of inquiry in order to address its scandalous (government & big business driven) 'state capture', fraud, corruption and racketeering by the governing 'liberation-movement' (sic)  on a scale so massive that it defies both reason and imagination. (More information in my article, South Africa: The Country With A Hole In It) (click).
This 'liberation movement' was responsible for enormous economic and collateral damage to South Africans e.g. in lost 'RDP houses', and lost sanitation systems, roads, hospitals & clinics, transport, trains & buses, schools & educational facilities etc., as well as the wholesale decimation of many of its SOE's (state-owned enterprises).
Many of the people who were 'liberated' by this 'liberation movement' (sic) in 1994 were those predators and scavengers liberated, empowered and let loose to plunder and splurge at large and at will, i.e. those diabolical agents of crime, 'state capture', white-collar 'bank heists' and all kinds of tender collusion ... and that with the full protection of the state and the president! They have even turned the Department of Correctional Services (the prisons sector) into the Department of Corruptional Services ... and what an insult to the once noble legacy of the proud and sincere Nelson Mandela.
While the new 'liberated' elite (with few exceptions) was riding the gravy-train to Dubai, Beijing, Harrods and 5th Avenue, their defenceless little ones were drowning in primitive pit toilets back in rural South Africa.  The hard fact of life in South Africa is that, in the case of the ruling party (a classic African 'liberation-movement' still doggedly clinging to the worship of ancestral spirits and veneration of forefathers) that has been ruling since 1994, the magic, democratic 'majority-vote' did not guarantee honesty in state-administration or corruption-free governance for the country (on the contrary).

4. THE FALLACY OF SAFETY IN NUMBERS. Democracy is that system that allegedly (just like the case may be with buffalo, wildebeest, birds and fishes in the wild) promises and guarantees  safety in numbers; after all, how can the majority ever be wrong? It is a system that apparently, however, completely ignores the fact that all people are basically bad, and not basically good. As somebody has once mentioned, however, in spite of being basically bad, the trait of true goodness in people is (admittedly) quite possible, provided that the sought-after goodness dormant in people is vigorously and indefatigably mined and pursued, a scarce commodity in our secular humanist driven society indeed.
As most secular humanists (a kinder term for modern suburban atheists) probably deny the concept or idea of evil (the antithesis of good) and consequently have automatically discarded  good (the thesis) as an idea or concept to be cherished as well; the upshot of this tragic indiscretion is that they apparently have completely lost the God-given gift of discerning between good and evil when the chips are down. The secular humanist's terrible moral dilemma, consequently, is that one cannot mine a 'commodity' (good) in people when one does not even believe (or know) that such a thing or commodity even exists.
So, the arithmetic of the naive democracy-pundits fails them when they erroneously assume that only good and particularly virtuous  people usually will, by default, intuitively choose and insist on democratic governing systems in the first place, and that all democracies therefore automatically comprise only good and virtuous people. God, however, warns in no uncertain terms that one should never applaud or follow the majority just because they are the majority:

Thou shalt not follow a multitude to do evil; neither shalt thou speak in a cause to decline after many to wrest judgment [Exodus 23:2].

As a case in point, please thus note the fallacy of the 'democratic' system of governance as the 'ideal' method of government in the Bible passages below.  For instance, although most of the citizens of Sodom (i.e. the 'democratic majority') were sinful and wicked (and apparently homosexual) yet God still destroyed Sodom (and its inhabitants) in spite of its 'majority rule' based on the 'democratic majority vote'; only Lot and his family (a pathetic minority that could muster only a few miserly 'loser-votes') escaped with their lives:

   But the men of Sodom were wicked and sinners before the LORD exceedingly.  And the LORD said, Because the cry of Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and because their sin is very grievous; And there came two angels to Sodom at even; and Lot sat in the gate of Sodom: and Lot seeing them rose up to meet them; and he bowed himself with his face toward the ground;

And he said, Behold now, my lords, turn in, I pray you, into your servant's house, and tarry all night, and wash your feet, and you shall rise up early, and go on your ways. And they said, No; but we will abide in the street all night.  And he pressed on them greatly; and they turned in to him, and entered into his house; and he made them a feast, and did bake unleavened bread, and they did eat. But before they lay downthe men of the cityeven the men of Sodomcompassed the house roundboth old and youngall the people from every quarter:
And they called to Lot, and said to himWhere are the men which came in to you this nightbring them out to usthat we may know them. And Lot went out at the door to them, and shut the door after him, And said, I pray you, brothers, do not so wickedly.  Behold now, I have two daughters which have not known man; let me, I pray you, bring them out to you, and do you to them as is good in your eyes: only to these men do nothing; for therefore came they under the shadow of my roof.
And they said, Stand back. And they said again, This one fellow came in to sojourn, and he will needs be a judge: now will we deal worse with you, than with them. And they pressed sore on the man, even Lot, and came near to break the doorBut the men put forth their hand, and pulled Lot into the house to them, and shut to the door.  And they smote the men that were at the door of the house with blindness, both small and great: so that they wearied themselves to find the door. [Genesis 13:13; 18:20; 19:1-11].

God apparently has the peculiar habit of only respecting and cherishing the righteous and the faithful (irrespective of whether they are the majority or the minority). Whereas the world of the democrat is founded on the principle of 'one man, one vote', the Kingdom of God is founded on the principle of 'a vote for only one man ... the man Christ Jesus!' (and not the Pope):

For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus [1Timothy 2:5]
But now hath he [JESUS] obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he [JESUS] is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises
And for this cause he [JESUS]  is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.
And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel. [Hebrews 8:6; 9:15; 12:24].
P.S. If the Pope (any Pope) really was capable of, through the facility of 'absolution', forgiving all of peoples' sins against God simply at will, then he would have been capable of healing at will same from all their diseases too, for this is the true Biblical litmus-test to prove authentic divine authority. Jesus could heal the sick at will because Jesus could forgive sins at will. How many sick people have the Pope ever healed in comparison to the number of times he has provided 'absolution' to people?  The Bible says:

And, behold, they brought to him a man sick of the palsy, lying on a bed: and Jesus seeing their faith said unto the sick of the palsy; Son, be of good cheer; thy sins be forgiven thee
And, behold, certain of the scribes said within themselves, This man blasphemeth
And Jesus knowing their thoughts said, Wherefore think ye evil in your hearts
For whether is easier, to say, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Arise, and walk
But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (then saith he to the sick of the palsy,) Arise, take up thy bed, and go unto thine house
And he arose, and departed to his house.
But when the multitudes saw it, they marvelled, and glorified God, which had given such power unto men. [Matthew 9:2-8].

  5. THE PERFECT FUTURE SYSTEM OF GOVERNANCE. Only one (and one only) perfect system of governance and public administration is contemplated by the Evangelical community in Christendom, and that is the one envisaged and promised by Jesus Christ as articulated by the many scribes of the Books of the Bible:

Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.  In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.  And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. [John 14:1-3].
If we suffer, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he also will deny us [2 Timothy 2:12].
And he that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I [JESUS] give power over the nationsAnd he shall rule them with a rod of iron; as the vessels of a potter shall they be broken to shivers: even as I received of my Father. [Revelations 2:26-27].
And she [ISRAEL] brought forth a man child [JESUS], who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child [JESUS] was caught up unto God, and to his throne. [Revelation 12:5].
Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years. [Revelation 20:6].
And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever. [Revelation 22:5].

[Article: Without Prejudice]

1. INTRODUCTION. South Africa is a country with a hole in it ... one dark and enormous abyss of anti-moral confusion and inconsistency, anti-ethical sentiment, state corruption, a culture of self-enrichment, socio-cultural perplexity and spiritual mystification comprising a huge ensemble of political and social leaders apparently bereft of the benefits of a credible 'moral compass' to govern by and  the plausible socio-cultural 'vector-quantity' of a drum to march to.
This, it would appear, is a country and government that governs by the policy of 'management by a portfolio of (incoherent) politically engineered and socially orchestrated knee-jerk reactions'.

2. REASONS FOR SAYING THAT SOUTH AFRICA IS A COUNTRY WITH A HOLE IN IT. The reasons are discussed under the subtopics of:

- The Left's 'Cradle of Humankind' Myth
- Ancestral Worship & Forefather Veneration
- ANC Corruption
- Anti-Israelism & Anti-Zionism
- LGBTQ Issues
- Pro-Choice Issues: Abortion-On-Demand
- Political Inconsistency & Hypocrisy
- Alcoholism & Drunken Driving
- The Crime Pandemic
- Unemployment & Homelessness
- Mediocre Service Delivery
- No Fear of God.

2.1 The Left's 'Cradle of Humankind' Myth.

2.1.1  Who Took The Pyramid? If Sterkfontein ('Maropeng') in South Africa really was the 'Cradle of Humankind', where are its great pyramids, primitive astronomical observatories ('ziggurats'), ancient ruinsartefacts and relics? Have the Christian-creationists stolen the pyramids to hide the evidence? Do they really believe that the first 'humans' migrated from the 'paradise' of South Africa's wonderful subtropical climate up north and eventually to Europe and Asia (to the bitter, freezing cold) to search for better hunting grounds, more lush grazing and more agreeable climates (or to escape tribal conflicts etc?).

Bear in mind that I am asking these questions in a spirit of satire, and not because I actually expected the ruins of 'pyramids' and 'ziggurats' (in and around Maropeng) so far back from those (speculated) eras; but primitive stone-tools all over the savannah of South Africa, some interesting rock-art and a few dilapidated stone-kraals dotting the landscape here and there would hardly constitute a great, ancient (if not the greatest and most ancient) primordial civilisation; these 'icons' of 'prehistory'* (they are inclined to make so much of) are found in spots all over the world.

* 'Prehistory': (i) The Geologic Time Scale of the atheist-evolutionists are of (spurious) academic interest only. I am over 70 years old and have never met any scientist who could point out to me this so-called 'Geologic Time Scale' (sic), i.e. the different layers representing the geologic eras, exactly as conjectured and depicted in their encyclopaedias, 'evolution'-textbooks, scientific dissertations & theses and on their colourful wall-charts; in fact, I am wondering if it exists at all, that is, outside of the minds, imaginations and conjecturing of the evolutionists themselves.
The very word 'prehistory' is a cultural-historical paradox ('The time that must have elapsed before time began ... history before history'). There is no such thing as prehistory ... history is history, and the term prehistory probably was coined for one reason only, i.e. to introduce the atheist-evolutionists' idea of a 'billions & millions of years' creation-model (!) into the minds of people to mask the absurdity of their anti-Biblical worldview and create the illusion of scientific credibility.
The irony of the matter is that, whether the Almighty God (the august 'YHWH' of Moses & Mt. Sinai) created this Universe and world from nothing (as we Christians and Jews believe), or whether the blind, brainless forces of 'Evolution' (sic) ' created the Cosmos by pure random accident from nothing (as the atheist-evolutionists believe), in the end it was still an act of creation.

(ii) In Christianity only two historical eras of critical importance are recognised, i.e. GEOLOGICAL: Before the Flood of Noah and After the Flood of Noah.  CULTURAL HISTORICAL: Before Christ (BC) and After Christ (AD). P.S. I reject the habit of secular-humanist writers, journalists and speakers of replacing the traditional abbreviations of BC and AD with the more politically-correct (postmodernist) abbreviations of CE. ('Common Era') and BCE ('Before Common Era') with the contempt it deserves. Why they find it necessary defies all logic, for it after all still points back to the eras historically 'demarcated' by the birth of Christ.

(iii) The habit of some naive pro-evolution idealists (who believe in God) to promote the idea of 'Creative (Theistic) Evolution' in order to appease the atheist-evolutionists and accommodate (uninformed) pro-evolution Christians in the Church as some sort of pseudo-academic, pseudo-scientific 'compromise' between the Bible and science won't work in the long run. The popular worldview of Creative Evolutionism among some 'theists' (i.e. people who believe in a Creator) does not present a feasible or viable (i.e. credible) theory or idea (see article 'Christians And Creative Evolution: You Must Be Joking!').

2.1.2 First Languages and Writing Systems? Where, at Maropeng (specifically) and in South Africa (at large) are the primitive archaeological proofs of the first rudimentary languages, judicial systems, and the mathematical and writing systems that have developed there? Where are the clay tabletspapyrus scrolls and the ancient astronomical instruments & observations?
For a place that is being hailed as the 'cradle of all of humankind', the plains of South Africa are suspiciously bereft of the common and familiar icons, artefacts and archaeological traces of meaningful (original) human development in the annals of history. The rock-art and primitive stone-tools found in South Africa, as well as of fossils (including that of of dinosaurs etc.) are common in many other parts of the world (that do not lay claim to such august origins) too, and would, just as is the case in other parts of the world, rather represent evidence of the Genesis Creation Record and the catastrophic Flood (Deluge) of Noah as authentic history, and not as proof for 'Evolution'.

2.1.3 First Civilisations? So, where are the proofs of its first rudimentary civilisations spanning a period of '1,75 – 3 million years'? What did Mrs Ples and the rest of the 'Flintstones' do with all their time ... watch 'Oprah'?
Who discovered the wheel ... the ‘rikshas’ of Durban? Why no archaeological evidence of any significant cultural-historical or technological development at Sterkfontein ('Maropeng') in 'millions of years'? Why no significant historical development in South Africa (at least in an embryonic form) comparable to that of Egypt, the Fertile Crescent, Europe, Mexico, Peru, Indo-China, etc.?
Confronted with these questions, many atheist-evolutionists' then resort to the pathetic explanation that Maropeng (South Africa) should be considered and billed as the cradle of humankind (sic) and not necessarily as the cradle of civilisation; this is a lame excuse, and instead of proving Darwinian evolution, this (their own) straw-man defence actually now ironically affirms the Biblical (Genesis) Creation Account of the origins of the first people and societies as originating from the Fertile Crescent of Mesopotamia

2.1.4  New Seven Wonders of the World Competition.  One would expect that such an iconic archaeological site (as 'Maropeng', South Africa) to draw some attention in public, yet poetic justice was again publicly demonstrated worldwide when 'Maropeng', the so-called 'Cradle of Humankind', featured virtually nowhere in any of the three categories of WORLD, NATURE and CITIES during the recent (international) New Seven Wonders of the World Competition that was judged by an estimated 100 million people worldwide.

Judged by this mediocre performance, one almost (satirically speaking) gets the impression that 'Mrs. Ples' (sic) and her fellow palaeontological 'siblings' were no more than a troop of unruly primates who (some time ago) were run over on the N14 highway by a motorist in a Porsche doing 260 kph.
Do the math: If the atheist-evolutionists were right, then it would mean that people like Julius Caesar, Plato, Socrates, Abraham, Moses, Abraham Lincoln, Thomas Edison, Alexander the Great, Flavius Josephus, Mother Teresa, Cleopatra, Elvis Presley, Billy Graham, George Bush, Donald Trump, Attila the Hun, Josef Stalin, Adolf Hitler, Hillary Clinton, John the Baptist and Jesus of Nazareth Himself all originally hail from Krugersdorp/Mogale City near Johannesburg in South Africa ... an anthropological (and geo-historical) absurdity of mammoth proportions.
The remark in South Africa (during the recent unveiling of a bronze statue in honour of some struggle stalwart) by some  virulent leftist  i.e. that South Africans, just like the Christians who sometimes undertake a pilgrimage to Jerusalem and the grave of Jesus, and the Muslims who sometimes undertake a pilgrimage to Mecca, will one day in great numbers flock in pilgrimage to the Cradle of Humankind at Maropeng to honour their Australopithecus ancestors, must surely take the prize as the greatest of pseudo-anthropological nonsense ever said in such a short period of time.
That remark will, for its level of ignorance, perhaps only be matched by Stephen Hawking's remark that, when man dies, he ceases to exist and is probably discarded like a worn-out and redundant computer hard drive; that such a brilliant intellect could not perform the simple mathematical calculation i.e. that that hard-drive was conceived, designed, engineered and manufactured by some brilliant, intelligent engineer in the field of computer science (and did not fall from the sky by pure, random 'Darwinian' chance and accident.) boggles the mind.
Do the math: Surely the brain, mind and living soul of a man is worth infinitely more than an ordinary computer hard-drive? How come then that man's (super-sophisticated, super-complex) brain and mind could have 'evolved' cosmically-biologically by 'Darwinian' accident and random chance, but the relatively simple computer hard-drive (made from ordinary local materials) had, of technologically necessity, to be conceived, designed, engineered and manufactured by somebody (an educated and scientifically trained 'person') with brains?

2.2 Ancestral Worship & Forefather Veneration. The Bible strictly forbids the worship of the deceased spirits of the dead, and people who indulge in that type of thing certainly are in breach of Biblical teaching on the subject, whether they are orthodox Jews or Christians (or neither). The Bible says:

Regard not them that have familiar spirits, neither seek after wizards, to be defiled by them: I am the LORD your God. And the soul that turneth after such as have familiar spirits, and after wizards, to go a whoring after them, I will even set my face against that soul, and will cut him off from among his people.  [Leviticus 19:31; 20:6].

Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer. [Deuteronomy 18:11].
And he made his son pass through the fire, and observed times, and used enchantments, and dealt with familiar spirits and wizards: he wrought much wickedness in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger. [2 Kings 21:6].
And he caused his children to pass through the fire in the valley of the son of Hinnom: also he observed times, and used enchantments, and used witchcraft, and dealt with a familiar spirit, and with wizards: he wrought much evil in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger. [2 Chronicles 33:6].
Moreover the workers with familiar spirits, and the wizards, and the images, and the idols, and all the abominations that were spied in the land of Judah and in Jerusalem, did Josiah put away, that he might perform the words of the law which were written in the book that Hilkiah the priest found in the house of the LORD. [2 Kings 23:24].
And when they shall say unto you, Seek unto them that have familiar spirits, and unto wizards that peep, and that mutter: should not a people seek unto their God? for the living to the dead? [Isaiah 8:19].

As for consulting the dead (e.g. 'ancestral spirits') the Abraham of the parable of the rich man and the beggar, also has informed us as follows:

And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thenceThen he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father's house:

For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment.  Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.  And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent.
And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead. [Luke 16:26-31].

It is not an uncommon phenomenon in South Africa to even have (some) university-graduates still sleeping on elevated beds to hide from the 'tokoloshe' (a frightening midget in African folklore) or buying 'muti' (from the word to 'mutilate') and 'lucky charms' from 'sangomas' (African witchdoctors) to attach to the steering-wheels of their cars as protection against traffic accidents and collisions.  Voodoo-like 'effigies' and 'love-potions' can be bought all over the streets of South Africa.

The new Freedom Monument in Pretoria was, some time ago and according to media-reports, inaugurated with great (superstitious) fanfare by the new ('democratic') government with the slaughter of an ox and the sprinkling of its blood along with the throwing of bones ('dolosse') in order to invoke the 'spirits of the ancestors', and that in the 20th Century! Many of the indigenous people of South Africa still live, work and swear by the supposed authority, influence and power of their ancestral spirits.
The cult of ancestral-worship has, however, taken a serious nosedive when, after the 'ancestral spirits' have been invoked prior to the onset of the 2010 Soccer World Cup (FIFA) for the national team ('Bafana Bafana') i.e. to win the World Cup, the national team was quickly and unceremoniously ousted from the race due to lack of performance ... apparently the worst that any entrant to the World Cup has ever done as a host nation for the World Cup ... clearly the ancestral spirits either do not like soccer, or they did not approve of the World Cup being held in South Africa due to the scandalous levels of rampant corruption involved in the tenders for the erection of World Cup venues.

Now, some may object to and even dispute the charge of 'ancestral worship' and 'forefather veneration' among some tribes in South Africa, but it, together with cannibalism,  have, over the years, been well-documented in the press. In fact, the keynote speaker to an important event at the (so-called) 'Cradle of Humankind' has even (as recently as this morning), with the unveiling of a bronze statue in the honour of struggle stalwart Ahmed Kathrada (a respected man nevertheless in most circles), referred to South Africa's huge collection of bronze statues (of struggle stalwarts, reportedly already totaling 100) as South Africa's own 'pantheon of icons'affirming the charge that many superstitious tribes in South Africa are still actively engaged in thpractice of ancestral-spirit veneration and/or worship.  Interestingly, Merriam-Webster gives the word 'pantheon' among others as:

- 'a temple dedicated to all the gods'

- 'a building serving as the burial place of or containing memorials to the famous dead of a nation'
- 'the gods of a people (especially officially recognised gods)'
- 'a group of illustrious or notable persons or things etc.'

2.3 ANC Corruption. ANC corruption, i.e. to a degree that staggers the imagination, has recently been exposed in a series of record-breaking books that shook the nation.
To illustrate the scope of the corruption, check the the following titles of books (exposing large-scale government corruption) that have been making headlines recently to the chagrin of the multitudinous multiplicities of agents of state capture, fraud, corruption, racketeering, tender-collusion, bribery & kickbacks, white-collar bank heists etc. in South African politics and/or big business:

For more information about the abovementioned publications, click on  Be that as it may, incredibly, on 8 May 2019, fifty-seven percent of South Africans went to the polls to vote the ANC back into power notwithstanding the enormity of the charges of corruption levelled against the party and the many (prohibitively expensive) commissions of enquiry currently in progress to investigate graft at government level.
One wonders ... are those who made up the 57% who voted the corrupt ANC back into power ignorant, stupid or insane? Not necessarily; according to some, it was voter apathy ('indifference') that did the trick.  Says Delia Ferreira Rubio of Transparency International:

“People’s indifference is the best breeding ground for corruption to grow.”

In his book, 750 Engaging Illustrations, Craig Brian Larson relates the story of the fall in 1995 of the Barings Bank, the oldest bank in Britain.  Due to a combination of irresponsible risks and natural disaster (an earthquake in Kobe, Japan involving the Nikkei) the London bank eventually lost $900 million in an effort to save its Singapore investments, with Queen Elizabeth one of the horde of 'casualties' ... she alone reportedly lost $100 million. On 26 February 1995 the Barings Bank announced its decision to declare bankruptcy, and the question that came up was:

"How could one twenty-eight-year-old trader in Singapore lose nearly a billion dollars and ruin a 233-year-old British bank?  Larson writes: 'According to Time, the problem was lack of supervision.'  'Time' wrote:  'London allowed (the Singapore trader) to take control of both the trading desk and the backroom settlement operation in Singapore. It is a mix that can be  ... and in this case was ... toxic ... For a trader to keep his own books is like a schoolboy getting to grade his own tests; the temptation to cheat can be overwhelming, particularly if the stakes are high enough.' " (Larson: pp.11-12).  Larson concludes: 'Without accountability, the temptation becomes all the more tempting, Accountability protects us from ourselves.' " (Larson: p.12).

2.4 Anti-Israelism & Anti-Zionism. The march of Zionism is an unstoppable, divinely sanctioned movement underwritten and sustained by Biblical prophecies thousands of years old and in the making. There is no way that either the forces of Hell or all the military might and will in the world is going to change that fact one iota.
Having said that, that doesn't mean that God loves the Jews and hates the Arabs. Only political simpletons still preach that kind of divisive message for the simple reason that it is expedient for them. Polarising the Israelis and the Palestinians have become a favourite past-time of the (extreme) Left.
Another factor to bear in mind is that it would also not be expedient for the average terrorist-leader (from whichever faction) to really make peace with Israel or to come to an amicable arrangement with the Jews over land in the Middle East, as terrorism per definition (i) thrives on conflict; (ii) terrorists leaders are hired hands and are dependent on sympathy and the handouts (financial support) from those who sponsor terrorism and (iii) true, lasting peace would make terrorism (as an industry) obsolete and probably would destroy 'jobs', 'incomes' and the 'lifestyles' from those who benefit from terrorism. Some terrorists have been in that industry for so long they could hardly do anything else but kill, murder, maim, cause collateral damage and obliterate cities ... no wonder they hate Jesus Christ who has warned:

The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I [JESUS] am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. [John 10:10].

Arabs (and anybody else for that matter) who hate Israel, revile the Jews and who want to drive the Israelis into the sea or destroy Israel, are playing with fire and pursuing such aims at their own peril. God (who does not lie or break promises) Himself has solemnly promised Abraham ('Avraham'):

And I [GOD] will bless them that bless thee [Abraham, the Hebrews], and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee [Abraham] shall all families of the earth [including the Arabs, Palestinians] be blessed. [Genesis 12:3].

Just see how things have changed:  "South Africa was among the 33 states that voted in favour of the 1947 UN Partition Plan,[1] recommending the establishment of a Jewish State in Palestine, and was one of only four Commonwealth nations to do so. On 24 May 1948,[2] nine days after Israel's declaration of independence, the South African government of Jan Smuts, a long-time supporter of Zionism, granted de facto recognition to the State of Israel, just two days before his United Party was voted out of office and replaced by the pro-apartheid National Party. South Africa was the seventh nation to recognise the new Jewish state. On 14 May 1949, South Africa granted de jure recognition to the State of Israel.[3]:109–111[4]The Israeli interest in South Africa sprang in part from the presence of about 110,000 Jews in South Africa, a figure which included more than 15,000 Israeli  citizens.[5](Wikipedia)..

After getting it right at first, what has lately transpired, however, does not portend well for South Africa.

"On 14 May 2018, South Africa withdrew its Ambassador to Israel indefinitely following the 2018 Gaza border protests. The South African Department of International Relations and Cooperation said in an official statement, 'As we have stated on previous occasions, South Africa reiterates its view that the Israeli Defence Force must withdraw from the Gaza Strip and bring to an end the violent and destructive incursions into Palestinian territories'."[87]" (Wikipedia).

With all the superstition, violent crime, government & big-business corruption, institutionalised neo-paganism (e.g. atheism-evolutionism; creative-evolutionism; scientific pantheism; witchcraft & ancestral spirit worship etc.), anti-Semitism, support for the anti-Israel 'BDS-movement'; drunken driving etc. running rife and government's tacit as well as very vocal approval of the LGBTQ movement, one is honestly tempted to wonder ... has the abovementioned Biblical curse (Genesis 12:3) not perhaps already taken effect, so visibly in all the trouble, conflict, hardship and misfortune our nation is experiencing? Is Africa's epithet as 'the hopeless continent' not totally justified?
Be that as it may, one nevertheless wonders why Muslim refugees (e.g. from Syria or Lybia etc.) escaping from war-torn cities and war-ravaged regions usually flee to European (i.e. predominantly Christian) countries, and not to Muslim countries?

2.5 LGBTQ Issues.

2.5.1 The Role of the Church. Churches (Christians) are not tasked with the explicit function to judge and condemn people willy-nilly or write off the hopes and dreams of other people in their effort to make a decent living (or pursue significance for their existence) no matter how such hopes and dreams (such as those of the LGBTQ movement) may clash with what some may think it should look like.
The Church is tasked mainly with preaching the Gospel and leading men (i.e. all people) to Christ, teaching Christ's disciples, providing spiritual guidance to believers, caring for widows and orphans, praying for the government and advising society at large on those values and principles pleasing to God.
According to the Bible, all judgment has been given (by God the Father) to one person and one person only ... Jesus of Nazareth:

For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son [JESUS]:  And hath given [JESUS] him authority to execute judgment also, because he [JESUS] is the Son of man.  I [JESUS] can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me. [John 5:22, 27, 30].

And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me [JESUS] in heaven and in earthGo ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy GhostTeaching them to observe all things whatsoever I [JESUS] have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen. [Matthew 28:18-20].
The role of the Church (the community of Christians) further is to interpret Scripture and faithfully teach the world to observe whatsoever Jesus has commanded. He has solemnly advised:

For verily I [JESUS] say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.  Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. [Matthew 5:18-19].

   The Apostle Paul writes:

For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves: Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another;)  In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel. [Romans 2:14-16].

Christians, furthermore, have a duty not only to interpret Scripture, but also to warn those who appear to stray from the straight and narrow:

When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; and thou givest him not warning, nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand.  Yet if thou warn the wicked, and he turn not from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soulNevertheless if thou warn the righteous man, that the righteous sin not, and he doth not sin, he shall surely live, because he is warned; also thou hast delivered thy soulNevertheless, if thou warn the wicked of his way to turn from it; if he do not turn from his way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul. [Ezekiel 3:18, 19, 21; 33:9].

It is thus clear from the abovementioned teaching that Christians find themselves in a moral dilemma: Should they attempt to teach, warn and admonish those who reject the wisdom of Scripture, or not? Bear in mind that it is also the soul of the Christian, and not only the soul of the wicked,  that is at risk here ... the Christian may actually suffer loss should he neglect his duty to teach, warn and admonish.

2.5.2 An Example. In his epistle to the Romans, the Apostle Paul clearly identifies the following 'behaviours' as unchristian and admonishes us to be alert to such 'dysfunctional demeanour': Unrighteousness; fornication; iniquity; covetousness; malice; being full of envy; murder; quarrels; deceit; evil habits; becoming whisperers; slanderers; haters of YAHWEH; insolent; proud; braggarts; inventors of evil things; weak minded; disobedient to parents; without discernment; covenant breakers; without natural affection; unforgiving, unmerciful. (See Romans 1:29-31 HRB).

Now surely should spiritual leaders ever take it upon them to admonish, warn and discipline their parishioners or church-members i.r.o. such aberrant behaviour, must it of necessity always be construed as hatred, hate-speech, racism or 'sinnerophobia'?  That is why there are spiritual leaders in the Church in the first place, i.e. to do just that.
Man has always rebelled against authority in an effort to push the moral boundaries and make life more comfortable for himself, and therefore will always need leaders to enforce and reinforce those boundaries by instilling those spiritual values articulated by the Bible as a 'moral compass' for decent people to live by, for the good order and the preservation of peoples' souls.

2.5.3 Let's Take It A Step Further. Having said the above, the reasonable man will hopefully now concede that, in any peaceful and prosperous society there ought to be rules for law, order, peace and harmony to prevail. Furthermore have we now hopefully also established the principle that political and spiritual leaders are tasked with the duty to keep citizens, followers, members and parishioners (especially governments) in check by means of some kind of a 'moral compass' to live, work, worship and play by.

In Evangelical Christianity this 'moral compass' has been established as The Bible (i.e. Old & New Testaments) in the same way and on the same basis the way the Hebrews (Jews) have, in ancient times leading up to today, established the Torah and the The Old Testament as their 'moral compass' of choice. Even in secular society this 'moral compass' is the justice system based on the ancient Judeo-Christian values of old that has been incorporated into what we know today as Roman-Dutch Law; Scots-English Law, Case Law and the adoption of local, indigenous laws where and when applicable.
For instance, when God said, "Thou shalt not kill!" most civilised countries in the West went and incorporated the injunction not to kill by declaring murder and homicide unlawful. Even in the old, atheistic U.S.S.R. murder used to be wrong, because God said so (but, however, not as if the communists and the KGB ever adhered to it).
In any mature society built on consensus about such values and principles emanating from such a 'moral compass', the leaders have a mandate to rule with authority and exercise discretion and wisdom in terms of the values and principles emanating from that established 'moral compass', and any disciplining, admonition, warning and teaching of members or followers in this regards should therefore never be construed as hate-speech, racism, discrimination or cruelty.
The irony now is that the same Romans Chapter 1 that has exposed and condemned the behaviours of unrighteousness; fornication; iniquity; covetousness; malice; being full of envy; murder; quarrels; deceit; evil habits; becoming whisperers; slanderers; haters of YAHWEH; insolent; proud; braggarts; inventors of evil things; weak minded; disobedient to parents; without discernment; covenant breakers; without natural affection; unforgiving, unmerciful in paragraph 2.5.2 (from Romans Chapter 1:29-31) as unchristian and morally dysfunctional, now also had the following to say about the LGBTQ community:.

Why God also gave them [the LGBTQ movement] up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonor their own bodies between themselves:  Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.  For this cause God gave them up to vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:  And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompense of their error which was meet.  And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; [Romans 1:24-28 AKJV].

I hope the reader can now see the dilemma of the Christian tasked with the duty of instilling Biblical values and principles into the hearts and minds of members of society,  i.e. those anti-LGBTQ values and principles that have stood the test of millennia and are today referred to as 'Judeo-Christian'. To make matters worse, also having to accomplish that in an environment where even the State has now decided to condone the LGBTQ lifestyle with an apparent, "If you can't beat them, then join them!" manner that smacks so much of vote-lobbying for the governing party. The Bible teaches in no uncertain terms:

You shall not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abominationNeither shall you lie with any beast to defile yourself therewith: neither shall any woman stand before a beast to lie down thereto: it is confusion. [Leviticus 18:22-23].

So, any objection to this doctrine (i.e. the Biblical one that condemns homosexuality in the strongest of terms) must be levelled or addressed at God Himself, and not at the Christian obliged to preach the truth about the moral, biological & socio-cultural error of the LGBTQ lifestyle.  Please, therefore, be civil and don't kill the messenger if you don't like the message ... those who object should choose the wise route and rather ask (challenge?) God Himself about the matter instead.

Having said that, I must however stress that the fact that Evangelical Christians cannot and will not condone the LGBTQ lifestyle, it does not grant anyone the license or the moral right to specifically harass members of that community or be unkind to them simply because it is expedient to do so. On the other hand must the LGBTQ community (and all other citizens too, for that matter) also take the sacrosanct principle of freedom of association as enshrined in the Constitution into consideration in their dealings with the public at large ... heterosexuals should be allowed the freedom (as business-owners, religious leaders etc.) not to have to employ homosexual people (and vice versa!) should they choose to do so.
These days the term 'homophobia' is being thrown around with great alacrity and fanfare (especially in the leftist press) to illustrate the frustration of the LGBTQ community with heterosexuals; but, however, why do we almost never see or hear the term 'christianophobia' (to illustrate the Left's bitter, anti-heterosexual vitriol) in the media? What is good for the goose ought to be good for the gander too.
There is only one way by which the LGBTQ community (as a community) can thus justify its own aims, values and lifestyle is simply to reject all Biblical values and principles as redundant, obsolete and not applicable to modern, 21st century communities; it makes no sense for the LGBTQ community to want to justify its lifestyle by invoking the traditional Biblical ('Christian') values of so-called 'love', 'tolerance' and 'understanding' in order  to justify their cause; it would be bad 'theology' indeed.
Although it may be morally expedient to try and do so, it will be nevertheless unlawful for the LGBTQ community (and anybody else for that matter) to try and revoke, rescind or replace one Biblical value with another (from the same Bible) as if they were in contention with each other. The fact that God is 'LOVE' does not mean that God is soft on sin, or on whatever behaviours or practices He may consider as wicked, ungodly or aberrant. He has made rules and issued commandments exactly because He is love ... that is what any good, competent and fair lawgiver, judge and law-enforcer in a civilised society would do.
The worst kind of hypocrite, however, is the 'straight, clean and church-going heterosexual' who lies to the tax-man about his income and then has the gall to criticise the members of the Gay community i.r.o. their 'unbiblical' lifestyle.  We must be consistent and credible i.r.o. our morals and policies.
In his article, 'The Commencement Address I Would Give', Dennis Prager ('The Dennis Prager Show') submits seven (good) ideas for life, and I could not have said it better:

- "The greatest struggle in your life is not with society but with yourself. This idea is not taught today. We are taught that we are victims of society — of its sexism, racism, ageism, homophobia and ethnic prejudices. The overwhelming temptation is therefore to see your problems as being with America and not with yourself. But this is all false. We are each our biggest problem.

- "Use your common sense. Whenever you hear the words “studies show” — outside of the natural sciences — and you find that these studies show the opposite of what common sense suggests, be very skeptical. I do not recall ever coming across a valid study that contravened common sense. For example, I was told when I was in college that 'studies show' that boys and girls are not inherently different; they only differ because parents raise them in a sexist manner. This was nonsense, and now almost no one believes this. Now we are told that 'studies show' that it is not better for children to have both a mother and a father, that it is just as good to begin life with a single parent or with two fathers or two mothers. But, with all respect to any person who raised a good child, this, too, is nonsense. Of course it is better to begin life with a good father and mother.

- "Race is unimportant. The color of people’s skin is as trivial as the color of their hair. Be guided by the idea of Viktor Frankl, the Jewish psychiatrist who suffered the horrors of a Nazi death camp and whose family was gassed. After the Holocaust, he was asked, 'Do you hate the Germans?' 'No, I don’t,' he replied, 'because there are only two races, the decent and the indecent.' Remember that truism, and you can never be racist.

- "Don’t leave your values at home. Whatever you do professionally, don’t leave your values at home when you go to work. Many people in my profession, the electronic media, are decent people. But they leave their decent values at home when they go to work. At work, they produce a lot of garbage because ratings demand it. So, too, many lawyers are fine men and women at home, but they leave their decency at home when they enter a courtroom — because obtaining the verdict they want demands it. It is not hard to succeed professionally. What is hard is to succeed with your integrity intact.

- "Beware of bad ideas. The 20th century, the century of gas chambers and gulags, was the bloodiest and cruelest century in history. Why? Not because so many people were bad, but because so many believed in bad ideas. The Islamic terrorists who slit flight attendants’ throats and slaughtered 3,000 American innocents on September 11, 2001, were not sadists; they were normal people who believed in evil ideas. Here is a quick way to measure if an idea is good. Ask two questions: Does believing this idea make a person more ethical? Does the idea hold all people accountable to the same moral code? For Nazis, Communists and Islamic radicals, the answer to both is no.

- "Your behavior matters far more than your intentions. That you mean to do something good or that you are sincere doesn’t mean much. What matters is how you act. If you do something bad, it is not important that you 'meant well.' So spend much less time monitoring your motives and far more time monitoring your actions.

- "Judeo-Christian values are the real counterculture. Many people think that dressing weird or having your body pierced is a statement of individuality, strength and rebellion against the dominant culture. Not true. The ultimate counterculture and strength in America today is to take the God of Judaism and Christianity seriously. If you want to be an individual and to be strong, affirm a higher value system that enables you to say no to the prevailing culture. When you know to whom you are accountable and when you march to the beat of that Higher Drummer, you will lead a more peaceful, happy and individualistic life. Good luck."

2.5.4 Our Main Concern. While the lifestyle promoted by the LGBTQ may raise some eyebrows or anger some (if not most) heterosexual people, the reader must bear in mind that Christians do not hate the members of the LGBTQ community ... they simply just won't condone the lifestyle as Scriptural.

Having said that, Christians nevertheless believe that all members of the LGBTQ community are also candidates for the Gospel of Jesus Christ and hope that they too somehow will come to a saving knowledge of Jesus as their Saviour. We see atheists (regardless of sexual orientation) as physical beings with a spiritual problem, and sincere 'believers' from the LGBTQ community as spiritual beings with a physical problem. Why?  Because of the medical facts and statistics that do not portend well for the Gay community.
In the final analysis, we are faced with this predicament where there are still people today trying to uphold what we would refer to as our traditional Judeo-Christian values and principles, juxtaposed against those from the extreme LEFT (including that of the LGBTQ community) who want to have a free rein i.r.o. so-called 'progressive' or 'alternative' lifestyles.
What the Church is trying to tell the atheists, agnostics, pagans and also the members of the LGBTQ movement is: By all means, have your own way, it's a free country. Choose your lifestyle, your method and your worldview, but while always bearing in mind that, although you may choose the method, you cannot choose that method or lifestyle's lethal consequences; and, we say that with compassion, love and considerable empathy.
Canada, for instance, reports the following significant stats i.r.o. the Gay-community:

"Gay, bisexual and other men who have sex with men are 131 times more likely to get HIV than men who do not have sex with men.  "The most recent estimates available that compare HIV incidence rates among key populations are from 2014.  According to 2014 national HIV estimates:

  • The HIV incidence rate was 469 per 100,000 gbMSM.
  • The HIV incidence rate was 3.6 per 100,000 men who do not have sex with men.
  • gbMSM are 131 times more likely to get HIV than men who do not have sex with men."

Furthermore, please also read the damning article i.r.o. the negative stats in connection with gbMSM-issues (i.e. men having sex with men) in the article, 'Global epidemiology of HIV infection in men who have sex with men' (MSM: U.S. National Library of Medicine: National Institutes of Health).
While these statistics should raise a red flag the size of the continent of Africa and be announced everyday for the next 100 years by government emissaries on a loudhailer in the streets, it is almost never heard or discussed (or even mentioned) in ordinary, run-of-the-mill interviews or debates on television about so-called gender equality and Gay rights.
So, either the LGBTQ community is in total denial about these stats, or governments, countries, institutions and lobby groups at large (favouring the LGBTQ movement) are simply so hard-pressed to be politically-correct and in vogue with Leftist (pseudo-democratic) trends that, well ... to hell with the stats.

2.5.5 What the LGBTQ community must do.

(a) Atheism & LGBTQ Issues.  The rift between the LGBTQ community and society at large could actually be resolved fairly easily. Bear in mind that the Constitution guarantees the sacrosanct principle of  'the freedom of religion' even for atheists and members of the LGBTQ community; and, if there are atheists who want to be part of the LGBTQ movement and have incidentally subscribed to the religion of Atheism, it is their human right to do so.

Atheists do not submit to the authority of the Bible as God's Word or subscribe to the Holy Scriptures as their 'moral compass' of choice in order to direct their lifestyle and behaviour.  In Eternity, however, they (just like us) will have to answer for their choices to a Holy God ... indefinitely. The Bible teaches:

Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place to wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, said the Lord. [Romans 12:19 KJV].

And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angelsIn flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus ChristWho shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power; [2 Thessalonians 1:7-9].
(b) Theism & LGBTQ Issues. There are, however, also theists (i.e. people who believe in a God, an Almighty Creator, Intelligent Designer or Supreme Being depending on the religious tradition in which they were raised) who apparently have chosen the LGBTQ way as a lifestyle and who are now being frowned upon by fellow citizens, parishioners, church-members and society-at-large etc.  My advice (for what it is worth) to them is as follows:

(i) Roman Catholicism & Protestantism.  There was a time when people like Martin Luther, John Calvin, John Huss, Zwingly and others became disenchanted with Roman Catholicism and, after much strife, conflict and contention, eventually had to break away and start their own movement, i.e. Protestantism.
Bear in mind that, when the Roman Catholic Church refused to 'change' and acquiesce to the reformers' demands, these 'reformers' did not return with court-orders or warrants of arrest for RC-leaders ... they simple (eventually) backed-off and started their own movement ... the Protestant Movement.

(ii) Protestantism & Pentecostalism.  Likewise, with the Azusa Street revival in Los Angeles during the early 1900s, when the Pentecostal movement was born, the pentecostal leaders and 'firebrands' did not go to the courts in order to get the reformed churches to 'change' or fall into line with the new, fledgling 'Pentecostal movement'; like the protestants of old they simply (eventually) backed-off and started the Pentecostal Movement, today the biggest in world Christianity.

(iii) Pentecostalism & the Charismatics.    During the 1970s, when the Charismatic Movement was ushered in, the Charismatics did not go to the Courts in order to force the Pentecostal Movement and the (mainline) Reformed Churches to 'change' or fall into line with their approach to Church worship and liturgy ... like the pentecostal and reformed people of old they simply (eventually) backed-off and started the Charismatic Movement, and the rest is history.

For the LGBTQ movement now to try and force the Evangelical Churches to fall into line with LGBTQ thinking, acquiesce to LGBTQ policies and submit to the LGBTQ's radical brand of 'theology' is way out of line and totally uncalled for. All the LGBTQ movement has to do is to back-off, and, in the tradition of the early reformers, pentecostals and charismatics of old, simply start their own movement, for instance, 'The First Christian Church of LGBTQ (South Africa)'
The Constitution guarantees freedom-of-religion, and if this is what the LGBTQ movement wants (and believes) why not give it to them? Obviously I would not agree with the tenets of such a church or movement based on LGBTQ values as its moral foundation, but if a bizarre cult like Scientology can have its 'church' (the 'Church of Scientology') and legally claim tax-rebates, why can't the LGBTQ movement have theirs?
The 'Church of Scientology' (sic)  does not even have a 'god' or 'deity' to worship or believe in, for goodness sake, yet they have been allowed by SARS (the S.A. Revenue Services) to register as a bona fide 'church' (sic) for tax purposes (!). What utter nonsense, of course, but what was good enough for the 'goose' (Scientology) ought to be good enough for the gander (the LGBTQ movement) too.
The problem with the LGBTQ movement is that it does not seek legitimacy in a separate 'denomination' or 'church' in terms of the freedom-of-religion principle, but, instead, wants to change the Evangelical and other Churches (i.e. those doctrinally opposed to LGBTQ lifestyles) to their peculiar way of thinking ... come hell or high water. This will, however, never happen.

2.5.6 What The Bible Teaches. The Evangelical Movement does not hate members of the LGBTQ community ... its members simply cannot condone the lifestyle because it is unscriptural. Just like us, the members of the Gay community must acquaint themselves, however, with the admonishments of the Bible, e.g. in terms of the two possibilities of worst-case and best-case scenarios:

(a) The worst-case scenario. The worst-case scenario for the LGBTQ community is where the Bible teaches about Lot and how Sodom was destroyed because of rife homosexuality (hence the now 'discarded' term, 'sodomy') as follows:

   But the men of Sodom were wicked and sinners before the LORD exceedingly.  And the LORD said, Because the cry of Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and because their sin is very grievous; And there came two angels to Sodom at even; and Lot sat in the gate of Sodom: and Lot seeing them rose up to meet them; and he bowed himself with his face toward the ground;

But before they lay down, the men of the city, even the men of Sodom, compassed the house round, both old and young, all the people from every quarter:
And they called to Lot, and said to him, Where are the men which came in to you this night? bring them out to us, that we may know them.
And they pressed sore on the man, even Lot, and came near to break the door. But the men put forth their hand, and pulled Lot into the house to them, and shut to the doorAnd they smote the men that were at the door of the house with blindness, both small and great: so that they wearied themselves to find the door. [Genesis 13:13; 18:20; 19:1-11].

It is thus clear from the abovementioned passage that the Evangelical Churches (and Evangelical Christianity) will never concede to the demands of the LGBTQ community to declare or proclaim it as a 'legitimate' (alternative or progressive) movement or lifestyle that deserves Biblical sanction. Some notes:

- In referring to the abovementioned Bible-passage, please note the fallacy of the 'democratic' system of governance as the 'ideal' method of government.  Although most of the citizens of Sodom (i.e. the 'majority') were sinful and wicked (and apparently homosexual) yet God still destroyed Sodom (and its inhabitants) in spite of its 'majority rule' based on the 'democratic majority vote' ... only Lot and his family (a pathetic minority) escaped with their lives;

- The passage teaches that the homosexual men who were at the door of the house and who wanted to sexually assault the two angels of God were all struck with blindness by the angels. One is now tempted to wonder why the LGBTQ community cannot come to the truth about homosexuality and see the moral dilemma (and serious health risk) created for society by the error of their ways ... does this 'primordial' Biblically-invoked blindness not perhaps still haunt the LGBTQ community of today?

(b) The best-case scenario. Having explained the (basic) view of Evangelical Christianity, the last thing any Christian ought to do is to try and write the (homosexual members of the) LGBTQ community off as beyond redemption and lost forever. Their may be hope after all; for who are we to judge and condemn? The Bible teaches:

I [GOD] will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will shew mercy on whom I will shew mercy." [Exodus 33:19b]
Come now, and let us reason together, said the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.  If you be willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land:  But if you refuse and rebel, you shall be devoured with the sword: for the mouth of the LORD has spoken it. [Isaiah 1:18-20].
From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.  [Matthew 4:17]
And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent you, and believe the gospel.  And they went out, and preached that men should repent. [Mark 1:15; 6:12].
I tell you, No: but, except you repent, you shall all likewise perish. [Luke 13:3].
Whoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
For I say to you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, you shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven. [Matthew 5:19-20].
For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.  For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;  Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time. [1 Timothy 2:3-6].
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.  For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. [John 3:16-18].

While it is true that Christians from Evangelical Christianity will never understand why homosexual men, in spite of the medical fact that (for instance in Canada) men who link up romantically with other men are 131 times (!) more likely to be infected with the HIV virus, are not concerned about such statistics; or, why homosexual men won't link up romantically with lesbians and vice versa (i.e. the LGBTQ community's own unique and shocking brand of 'homophobia') in the final analysis it will still remain God's exclusive prerogative in Eternity (or at the moment of death) to judge on or deal with the matter as He sees fit ... and no correspondence will be entered into the matter afterwards. The verdict  of Heaven's Courts of Absolute & Infinite Judgement will then be non-negotiable and final.
P.S. Isn't it ironic that all those who today vote, rally and lobby so loudly for Gay rights were, without exception, themselves born from heterosexual unions? Weird.

2.6 Pro-Choice Issues: Abortion-On-Demand. As an Evangelical Christian I stand with Evangelical Christianity on the issue of abortion-on-demand, and the viewpoint has been thoroughly documented. The point I want to make is that, every time governments (or despots) began with the killing of babies en masse in the past, some great historical event has taken place afterwards, e.g.:

- after Pharaoh issued a decree to have the (male) babies of the Hebrews killed during his disputes with the Hebrews over the birth of a possible deliverer, God Himself retaliated later to smite Egypt with the death of the male babies (eldest) of those (including the eldest of the Pharaoh) who were not protected by blood on the doorposts of their houses, and the Hebrews were subsequently released (an epic event known as the 'Exodus'). Furthermore, bear in mind that after Pharaoh had those male babies effected by his decree dumped en masse into the Nile river (Exodus 1:22) all the host of Pharaoh (horsemen & chariots) were afterwards drowned en masse in the Red Sea (Exodus 14:28-30).

- after Herod issued a decree to have male babies killed en masse (in order to prevent the birth of the anticipated 'deliverer' or 'messiah') Jesus of Nazareth was nevertheless anyway born and the historic prosecution, martyrdom, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ has ensued.

- Today governments worldwide are, believe it or not, killing babies, irrespective of gender, en masse again. This is referred to these days as 'abortion-on-demand' and the idea is being propagated and promoted by the (Leftist) anti-Bible Pro-Choice movement

Where the debate eventually will go is uncertain, but their has lately been an upsurge in certain American states on the banning of any kind of abortion-on-demand except for specific legal exceptions. The very practice of the worldwide killing of babies en masse (including in South Africa) on demand does not portend well for this country.

Due to the apparent lack of wisdom in government, it is clearly taking its cue from the extreme (anti-christian) LEFT. Be that as it may the policy favouring abortion-on-demand may nevertheless be a prophetical precursor for another historic event (a new 'exodus'?) imminent in the near future ... perhaps the Second Coming of Jesus Christ?
Isn't it ironic that all those who today vote, lobby and rally so loudly for 'abortion' have already been born themselves ... why do they never ask the already aborted for their opinion on the matter?
P.S. I was born in 1947, and if Pro-Choice values had been in vogue then, I probably would never have been born, as the circumstances surrounding my conception and birth (no names, no pack-drill) would have fallen into the category that would definitely have justified an abortion; fortunately my mother chose otherwise, and today I can also say:

Though my heart is bruised and riven,
And my soul is scathed with scars;
Yet I've touched the fringe of heaven ...
Yet I've lived among the stars.

(Herman Charles Bosman, 1905-1951)

2.7 Political Inconsistency & Hypocrisy. I have noticed a strange trend in South Africa where some of its citizens have been very vocal lately about the so-called 'negative legacy of colonialism'; a trend and charge I can easily identify with as the Afrikaner-population has, during the Anglo-Boer War (1899-1902) also been decimated as a nation thanks to 'British colonialism'.

As an Afrikaner whose great-grandmother who, as teenager of approximately 14 years old, has had to walk with members of her family and community (driven like cattle by British soldiers on horses) from Lichtenburg in the Northwest to a concentration camp in Potchefstroom (a distance of anything between 120 to150 km depending on the route chosen by the officers) and who later was permanently disabled by a British bomb during the Anglo-Boer War of 1899-1902 which rendered her a midget of a hunchback for life, I am also entitled to my quota of gripes against 'British colonialism'.
It was this young girl from the concentration camps of the British during the Anglo-Boer War of 1899-1902 who, during the 1950's as an old woman and already in her nineties, gnarled and bent-over with age, used to pray for us children one by one while mentioning each of us by name every evening before she went to bed.  Her weathered, craggy voice was still resonant and we could hear her yards away where we were playing outside in the yard. These prayers probably constituted the awesome power that has been sustaining me for over seven decades now, and hopefully still will for some time to come.
My objection to the current 'anti-colonialism' campaign, however, is the that it is being driven by disingenuous motives and political inconsistency. I have no illusions about the legacy of 'colonialism', but then gripes against such must be genuine and sincere, and not loaded with disingenuous and hypocritical anti-British sentiment born from gross ignorance and plain ingratitude just to fit some political agenda. To illustrate the political inconsistency and hypocrisy of the current contingent of complainers, I submit the reasons I say so as follows:

A smiling and deliriously happy (9-metre)
Nelson Mandela in front of the 'colonial era'
Union Buildings  designed by the famous
'colonial era' architect Sir Herbert Baker.
2.71 The Hypocrisy over 'Colonial Era' Architecture.  They complain about 'colonialism' while, at the same time, arguing this very point from (among others) the luxury carpeted and air-conditioned Houses of Parliament in Cape Town and the Union Buildings in Pretoria ... stately and monumental buildings the size of English palaces designed and erected by colonial-era architects during the colonial era.
Were they sincere and honest about the negative legacy of 'colonialism', they would have placed their money where their mouth is and evacuated these notorious (and so convenient) symbols and icons of 'colonialism' ...  why don't they?
Furthermore, notice how deliriously happy Nelson Mandela appears in front of the Union Buildings in Pretoria ... from this image I would surmise that he has never had any moral qualms about fully and enthusiastically utilising and enjoying these (notorious) luxury 'colonial era' facilities during his tenure as president.

2.7.2 Colonial Era Sports. They complain about 'colonialism' while, at the same time, they are enthusiastic soccer-lovers and passionate supporters of South Africa's national soccer team, Bafana Bafana. The irony here is that soccer is a 'colonial game' imported from England during the 'colonial era'. The same goes for rugby, golf and cricket.

Were they sincere and honest about the negative legacy of 'colonialism', they would have placed their money where their mouth is and, out of protest, for instance insisted on the cancellation of South Africa's FIFA-membership and on Bafana Bafana's immediate withdrawal from FIFA World Cup events ... why don't they?  Why does Bafana Bafana insist on (i) playing an English sport from the 'colonial era' and (ii) participating in 'colonial era' FIFA World Cup Soccer events, and thereby thus endorsing 'colonialism' as a force to the good of the people?
Tiger Woods is the world's wealthiest and most successful black professional golfer, and has made his millions in the USA (and elsewhere in the world) through (guess what) 'colonialism', i.e. with a sports invented at St Andrews in England and imported from England to the colonies (including the USA and South Africa) during the 'colonial era'. Do 'anti-colonialism' lobbyists now expect him to give away all his 'ill-gotten gains' or get rid of his assets, throw away his golf-clubs and go work as a waiter at a hotel in Zimbabwe just because golf is a 'colonialism' sports imported by 'colonialism' during the 'colonial era'?

2.7.3 Language Issues. They complain about 'colonialism' while, at the same time, ensconcing the 'colonial era' language of English as the only official language of tuition on university campuses in South Africa.

The irony was that, while Afrikaner students were lobbying for tuition in Afrikaans and other minorities (e.g. Zulu-speaking; Sotho-speaking; Venda-speaking; Xhosa-speaking etc.) representing the rest of the eleven official languages of South Africa were doing the same for their minorities, it was black university office-bearers (among others) who rejected these requests (for mother-tongue tuition) in favour of the very convenient  'colonial era' language of English (!).
Were they sincere and honest about the negative legacy of 'colonialism', they would have placed their money where their mouth is and, out of protest, insisted on using any language of tuition other than the 'colonial era' language of English, even were they compelled to import swahili, sanskrit, welsh, gaelic or mandarin for that purpose, for goodness sake. For some mysterious, fascinating reason the very complainers about the 'negative legacy of  colonialism' just adore the English language and have become quite fluent in i too..
For extra measure they could even ban the use of the English language in the media (in South Africa) altogether, i.e. from CNN and the BBC to Newzroom Africa and the SABC, just to illustrate the hopeless absurdity of the entire 'anti-colonialism' movement in South Africa. Yes, I am disgusted with the way in which my great-grandmother has had to suffer under British occupation during the Anglo-Boer War, but such are the fortunes of war.
Today I am thankful that Jan Smuts has had the courage to, against the will of the many (anti-British) Afrikaners of his his day, compel the South African Education Dept. to make the English language compulsory for public schools in South Africa. Without it we would, in many respects, probably have been an infinitely poorer nation ... he should have banned the lacklustre and sluggish game of cricket instead.

2.7.4 Rhodes Scholarships. They complain about 'colonialism' and insist on the removing of Cecil Rhodes statues from politically-sensitive university campuses while, at the same time, accepting and enjoying the lucrative benefits of colonialism's iconic Rhodes Scholarships (?).

Were they sincere and honest about the negative legacy of 'colonialism', they would have placed their money where their mouth is and, out of protest, declined all those lucrative Rhodes Scholarships in exchange for e.g. a more 'honourable' career as a cashier at a supermarket or a porter at an airport instead ... why don't they?
I have heard ('read about') another horror story of such magnitude of absurdity that it beggars belief; i.e. that the chairman or spokesperson for the #RhodesMustFall campaign in Cape Town was/is a Rhodes Scholar himself, currently engaged in completing some master's degree with the compliments of (and at the expense of) the 'imperialist' and 'racist' himself ... Cecil John Rhodes.
Incredible? No, not at all ... this is typically what happen when they put books meant for responsible adults  into the hands of impressionable, intellectually myopic and entitled spoiled brats suffering from the modern suburban disease of 'affluenza'*, further spurred on by those third party political agitators and rabble-rousers roaming our university campuses in search of naive (newsworthy) canon-fodder for the virulent social media circuit.
* 'Affluenza': 'The rich and privileged kids syndrome'

2.8 Alcoholism & Drunken Driving.

2.8.1 Background.  Although South Africa is not rated in the top fifty of the heaviest beer-drinkers of the world, it still rates as one of the most dangerous for road accidents and drunken driving:

"When It comes to fatalities from drunk driving, one country stands out from the rest. According to the WHO's Global Status report on Road Safety for 2015South Africa is one of the most dangerous countries in the world for road accidents with 25.1 deaths per 100,000 people every year. Shockingly, nearly 6 out of every 10 fatalities (58 percent) on South Africa's roads can be attributed to alcohol consumption." (Forbes' Worst Countries in the World for Drunk Driving).

Furthermore, beer apparently dehydrates beer-drinkers, writes Dr. Alexander van Hattem (Perth, Australia):

"This is why it is so important to drink water along with alcoholic drinks.  When you drink beer, you feel like you are drinking plenty of fluid, but you're losing everything you gain and more.  That means you can be drinking constantly but still get dehydrated, and dehydration accounts for a large portion of getting a hangover the next morning." (Quora, 2018).

In other words, not only do beer-drinkers, and especially chronic beer-drinkers and alcoholics, flush precious nutrients (and especially the complex of water-soluble B--Vitamins) from their system by their beer-drinking, but they are actually, in the process, doing it at an accelerated pace by dehydrating with their drinking ... a perfect recipe for pathological alcohol-dependence, chronic alcoholism and severe clinical depression.

The reader is strongly advised to study the article (and similar articles), 'Understanding Nutrition, Depression and Mental Illness' (T.S Sathyanarayana et al, Indian Journal of Psychiatry) to learn of the critical links between the Vitamin B complexomega fatty acidsamino acidsfruits & vegetables etc. and mental illness & clinical depression.
It is a vicious circle. At first, the drinker drinks because he is lonely, he feels 'blue', or because of some debilitating setback or crisis in his life; or maybe he drinks because of peer pressure, the expectations of so-called 'friends' and 'buddies'.  The beer then begins to break down his health, slowly but surely over many years, even decades, draining and depriving him of precious, life-saving B-Vitamins (and probably many other nutrients too, such as magnesium etc.). Adelle Davis writes:

"The blood of persons suffering from extreme irritability has been found to be low in magnesium ... It is my guess that magnesium deficiencies are partly responsible for the widespread nervousness, insomnia and irritability supposedly caused by the 'fast pace of modern living' ... whenever I think of the tortured human beings writhing in straitjackets or perhaps held down in hot water by canvas fitted around their necks and the sides of the tubs, as I have seen them in too many institutions and psychopathic wards, I long to give these people injections of Vitamin B6 and magnesium'" (Davis: Let's Eat Right To Keep Fit: 202-203).

It is a vicious circle. At first, the drinker drinks because he is lonely, he feels 'blue', or because of some debilitating setback or crisis in his life; or maybe he drinks because of peer pressure, the expectations of so-called 'friends' and 'buddies'.  The beer then begins to break down his liver and health in general, slowly but surely over many years, even decades, draining and depriving him of precious, life-saving B-Vitamins (and probably many other nutrients too, such as magnesium etc.).
So, the 'patient' eventually begins to notice the onset of occasional depression, then severe depression and eventually debilitating clinical depression while, in the meantime, he cannot understand why. He solicits all kinds of advice from all over the place and eventually goes to consult a psychologist or therapist, ending up at home with a bottle of useless anti-depressants or sleeping pills (or both).

2.8.2 The Legacy of Chronic Beer-drinking & Liquor-abuse.  The long-term effect of alcohol-abuse or chronic alcohol-use due to such long-term dehydration and depletion of life-saving vitamins and minerals may include:

- a red glow in the face
- hypertension
- cirrhosis (atrophy) of the liver
- coronary heart-disease (atherosclerosis)
- heart-failure
- gastritis
- stomach ulcers
- kidney-failure
- the permanent destruction of the patient's brain and nerve functions etc.

(Dr. Jan van Elfin. Doctor In The House. Tafelberg Uitgewers.RSA).

Someone once wrote: "A BAR to heaven and a DOOR to hell; whoever named it, named it well!" It would appear as if the majority of our citizens have not learned this lesson yet, and the local pub and township tavern or shebeen still remain intact as many a plastered and stoned citizen's de facto social 'religion' or 'church'.
As children my parents used to take us to the local bar to sit in the car outside in the street and watch the impressing gallery of inebriated local heroes (turned into zeroes) from our small village emerging from the drinking place ... and what an abysmal social sight. In a small mining and railway village bereft of any interesting amusements worth mentioning, those excursions to the bar to observe these brave exponents of hard drinking and culinary bravado falling over their feet and swaying like reeds in the wind on the pavement outside constituted our only entertainment for many a lonely Saturday evening.
So, it would appear as if South Africa is, for all intentions and purposes, by and large still a nation of highly respectable (and some quite sleazy) drunken bums and reckless drivers.

2.9 The Crime Pandemic.  According to Wikipedia, South Africa has a notably high rate of murders, assaults, rapes and other violent crimes, compared to most countries.
Over and above being the country with the worst drivers in the world, South Africa has also been dubbed 'the rape capital of the world'. Furthermore are 52 people murdered everyday and it is reported that Hollard Ins. Co. has arrived at a junction where it does not insure Volkswagen Citi Golf's (the most-hijacked car in S.A.) any longer.
Taxi violence, high taxes and toxic cold meats have been haunting citizens relentlessly in recent times; cash-in-transit heists have been reaching epidemic proportions at times; automated teller machines are often blown up or police officers are impersonated for robbery purposes. Farm murders are rampant; kidnapping in South Africa is common (4100 in 2013/2014) with a child going missing every 5 hours and gang violence an institutionalised way of life in many cities.
According to Wikipedia, reasons for the high crime rate may include the following (and I quote):

- "The normalization of violence. Violence is seen as a necessary and justified way of resolving conflict, and males believe that coercive sexual behavior against women is legitimate.

- "A subculture of violence and criminality, ranging from individual criminals who rape or rob to informal groups or more formalized gangs. Those involved in the subculture are engaged in criminal careers and commonly use firearms, with the exception of Cape Town where knife violence is more prevalent. Credibility within this subculture is related to the readiness to resort to extreme violence.

- "The vulnerability of young people linked to inadequate child rearing and poor youth socialization. As a result of poverty, unstable living arrangements and being brought up with inconsistent and uncaring parenting, some South African children are exposed to risk factors which enhance the chances that they will become involved in criminality and violence.

- "The high levels of inequality, poverty, unemployment, social exclusion and marginalization.

- "The reliance on a criminal justice system that is mired in many issues, including inefficiency and corruption. Many South African police officers work long hours out of under-resourced police stations. Many of these stations lack basic office equipment such as a photocopier or fax machine, while their only phone landline is often busy, and they may be out of printing paper or even toilet paper. Many police officers are tempted by offers from the criminal underworld, especially when their superiors and seniors are visibly on the take.

- "South Africa's Criminal Justice Budget was subject to plunder by corrupt police officials at least during the period from 1997 to 2017. The massive inside job involved over 20 persons in the SAPS's top brass, and probes into these activities necessitated the discontinuation of some essential policing services.

- "Ammunition and fire arms are regularly stolen from the security forces, and it is feared that these may be used in other crimes."

Having said that, the over-arching cause for the high crime rates in South Africa, however, appears to be the complete collapse of the country and government's moral compass. Against the backdrop of ANC-corruption where even the (former) president stood as probably the most rogue of the troop of accused perps implicated in state capture, fraud, corruption and racketeering, how could things be otherwise? Like priest, as the saying goes, like people! According to Wikipedia, the country's leadership was also accused of disregarding the Auditor General's recommendations in cases of wrongdoing. Financial crimes in South Africa may include:

- building hijacking

- asset stripping
- advance fee fraud
- pyramid schemes
- targeting of government auditors
- power-grid theft & vandalism etc.
The ANC has proved itself not only a party synonymous with white-collar crime on a pandemic scale, but has also shown itself especially soft on crime and criminals among its very own, where those implicated and/or found guilty of in crime and/or malfeasance are often either re-employed again later or redeployed to diplomatic posts overseas, hence the very fitting term for that notorious practice, i.e. recycled failure, and the recent 57% majority vote to put the ANC back into power also may eventually prove to be again just that: Recycled Failure.

2.10  Unemployment & Homelessness. Trading Economics writes as follows:

"The unemployment rate in South Africa rose to 27.6 percent in the first quarter of 2019 from 27.1 percent in the previous period. It is the highest jobless rate since Q3 2017, as the number of unemployed went up by 62 thousand to 6.20 million and employment fell by 237 thousand to 16.29 million. The unemployment rate usually rises in the first quarter of the year, as temporary staff hired to work over the busy festive season is dismissed. However, a year earlier, the jobless rate was lower at 26.7 percent. Unemployment Rate in South Africa averaged 25.66 percent from 2000 until 2019, reaching an all time high of 31.20 percent in the first quarter of 2003 and a record low of 21.50 percent in the fourth quarter of 2008." (Trading Economics: South Africa Unemployment Rate).

I believe that, had state captured never occurred, South Africa would probably (by now) have been a veritable treasure trove of viable jobs for people with access to the South African business and job market, and that it was state capture (predominantly by the ruling party); cadre & crony deployment; managerial, administrative and technical incompetence and maladministration; lack of professional oversight & due diligence; tender-collusion and money-laundering on a mass scale; top level ('VIP') splurging; municipal mismanagement; SOE bail-outs and public indifference (among so many to all of this) that has decimated the South African economy and potential for success.
No longer must we speak of 'the legacy of apartheid' ...after a quarter-of-a-century of democracy and (lately) the corrosive Zuma-presidency, the more appropriate term would now probably be 'the legacy of the ANC' (the chickens have finally come home to roost).
The astounding wealth lost during and as a consequence of the Zupta-presidency (the South African public is still reeling as the Zondo Commision of Inquiry into State Capture uncovers malfeasance on a daily scale) could (and should) have been allocated to education, sanitation, housing, transport, health and the creating of an environment conducive to business investment (local and international) and job creation instead.
Furthermore, the introduction of a minimum wage law in January 2019 does not exactly portend well for job seekers in South Africa. Fin24CityPress writes as follows:

"The legislation stipulates a minimum national rate of R20 per hour, or R3 500 per month, depending on the number of hours worked. The R20 an hour rate will be phased in slowly in the agriculture and domestic work sectors, with workers earning R18 and R15 per hour respectively."  (Fin24CityPress).

I may have to stand to be corrected should I ever be proved wrong in future, but my submission is that minimum wage laws (a typically socialist construct) will probably do the following, i.e. over the medium to long-term:

- prevent prospective job seekers (desperate for personal significance, exposure to industry, skills-training and protection from the elements) from entering the job market at whatever convenient or inconvenient wage, and whether in the informal or formal sector;

- generate lay-offs i.r.o. people already in employment (necessitated by staff-reductions in firms hard-pressed to comply to such minimum wage laws); and

- exacerbate the unemployment problem instead of alleviating it.

2.11 Mediocre Service Delivery (Health, Education, Sanitation. Housing etc.). On 8 May 2019 South Africans went to the polls of whom 57% of the voters inexplicably voted the corrupt ANC party back into power. From the 9th of May onward any complaints and gripes about poor service delivery therefore must squarely be laid at the feet of the 57% of the voter-public who voted the party back into power.  Having said that, bear in mind that:

- the mind-boggling amounts of money that have been misdirected, mismanaged, wasted or lost by the party during the post-1994 years of 'democracy' suggests a country of fabulous wealth and immense natural resources and that, had there never been any corruption, malfeasance and mismanagement from 1994 onward, this country's fortunes would have looked remarkably different today; so much wealth was lost or wasted probably because there was so much wealth available to lose and waste in the first place.

The ANC has, for all intents and purposes, transmogrified a robust and relatively wealthy African country, i.e. the economic powerhouse of Africa and commercial jewel of the continent into (metaphorically speaking) the very (debt-ridden) 'skunk of the world'  third-world banana-republic that Nelson Mandela warned against during his 1994 inauguration-speech; the only difference was that, whereas the pre-1994 apartheid was racial, today's post-1994 apartheid is economical ... i.e. the powerful, politically-connected government & business elite vs. the economically jobless, landless and homeless (financially) disenfranchised.

- while some ministers, public office-bearers and connected politicians (no names, no pack-drill) were riding the gravy-train to Beijing, Dubai, Harrods and Fifth Avenue, or joining cacophonous blue-light brigades Gestapo-style like bats out of @#$&! through the streets of Pretoria, their hopeful and bright-eyed (but undernourished and defenceless) little children were drowning in primitive pit-toilets at neglected, underfunded township-schools.

2.12 No Fear Of God. One does not have to be a rocket-scientist or brain-surgeon to see that those members of the government (no names no pack-drill) who were responsible for (so-called and alleged) the 'Zuptagate state capture' saga, fraud, corruption and racketeering driven from its Saxonwold compound, actions that have been described at the Zondo Commission of Enquiry into State Capture as 'reckless',   never have had any fear of God* as a critical, indispensable value in their pathetic, paper-thin portfolio of business-ethics and governance-morals. The Bible says:

[2 Samuel 23:3]  The God of Israel said, the Rock of Israel spake to me, He that ruleth over men must be just, ruling in the fear of God.

[Nehemiah 5:15]  But the former governors that had been before me were chargeable unto the people, and had taken of them bread and wine, beside forty shekels of silver; yea, even their servants bare rule over the people: but so did not I, because of the fear of God
[Psalm 36:1]  To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David the servant of the LORD. The transgression of the wicked saith within my heart, that there is no fear of God before his eyes
[Romans 3:18]  There is no fear of God before their eyes.
[2 Corinthians 7:1]  Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.
[Ephesians 5:21]  Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God.
[Job 28:28]  And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding.
[Psalm 111:10]  The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever.
[Proverbs 1:7]  The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction
[Proverbs 15:33]  The fear of the LORD is the instruction of wisdom; and before honour is humility.

*God: The YHWH of Moses and Mt. Sinai; the God of Abraham, Isaac & Jacob; the Rock of Israel; the Commander of Heaven & Israel's Armies.

4. CONCLUSION. Having read the above comments about the 'hole' in the country,  a tale so morbid, discouraging and depressing that one could be tempted to believe that all has been lost, that the country is beyond repair and hope. That is not necessarily so ... the Bible says:

If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.  Now mine eyes shall be open, and mine ears attent unto the prayer that is made in this place. [2 Chronicles 7:14-15].

The government (the political leadership, the ruling party, parliament and the entire country, for that matter) should, in other words:

- humble themselves;

- pray;
- seek God's face; and
- turn from their wicked ways (state capture, fraud, corruption, racketeering, tender-collusion etc.) for God to heal the land.

Hope for South Africa (for the government to learn to march to Dennis Prager's Higher Drummer) was rekindled when the intrepid Chief Justice Mogoeng Mogoeng went down on his knees in Parliament on 22 May 2019 to pray prior to his swearing-in of the designated members of the National Assembly. Writes 'SAPeople' (SAPeopleNews):

"But before he began, the Chief Justice did something that has never been done before. He dropped to his knees and prayed.  'I want to thank you Chief Justice for doing an unprecedented act of going on your knees and praying, not only for this Parliament, but praying for our nation,' said Ramaphosa. 'I wish it was broadcast so that everyone in the land could hear what prayer the Chief Justice was offering.'

"Ramaphosa added that it is 'wonderful to have a Chief Justice who’s not only a person deeply steeped in jury prudence, but also a person deeply steeped in matters of the faith. Thank you very much Chief Justice.' "

This saga about everything that has gone wrong with the country in recent years (especially since 2009) would not be complete without the following critical promises from the Holy Scriptures:

[Job 42:1]  Then Job answered the LORD, and said,
[Job 42:2]  I know that thou [GOD] canst do every thing, and that no thought can be withholden from thee.
[Matthew 19:26]  But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.
[James 5:11]  Behold, we count them happy which endure. Ye have heard of the patience of Job, and have seen the end of the Lord; that the Lord is very pitiful, and of tender mercy.

                                         DECLARATION OF ACCEPTANCE

I herewith accept Jesus Christ as my personal Lord and Saviour, and therefore put my trust and my future in the Wisdom of God and the Ministry, Teachings, Sacrifice, Death, Blood, Resurrection and Righteousness of Jesus Christ, the Son of God (as presented to the world in the narratives of the Old & New Testaments of the Bible) for the Forgiveness of my sins, Reconciliation with God and for Eternal Salvation. May the Mercy, Grace and Favour of God follow me all the days of my life.

                                Signed                                                  Date

'And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.'
[Revelation 22:17]

"I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will shew mercy on whom I will shew mercy."
[Exodus 33:19b]
