Beware Of Sticky Traps!

1. Do-It-Yourself pesticides. There is a man I know who, after having spent large sums of money on pesticides and insecticides to get rid of the harvester ants in his garden; and, also after having spent a small fortune on a local ‘pest control’ firm (to no avail) for the same reason, eventually did get rid of the pests by installing a ‘homemade patent’ of his own, i.e. containers filled with sticky sugar-syrup  strategically placed all over the yard, and even inside his house, e.g. in the kitchen and in the bathroom for the little black ants so prevalent in pursuit of bread-crumbs, food-scraps and water.

It was not long after that the (exterior as well as interior) ants were contained. Harvester ants cannot really be exterminated; there numbers (including eggs in nests) are simply too great; but, they can be managed and contained, with sticky traps like sugar-syrup and other innovations. The man hasn’t ruled out pesticides, but valiantly tries to avoid them.

2. The mosquito plague. An interesting phenomenon is where we tried to contain mosquitoes, flies and chinch-bugs by hanging out a few (unsightly, I may add) ‘sticky trap’ strips (near kitchen windows and out in the ‘summer-house’) purchased at a local hardware store. The mosquitoes and flies were drawn to these ‘sticky traps’ like positively phototactic insects to a UV-light, probably because they were drawn by either sheer coincidence, the smell of the glue, the movement of the tape in a light breeze or wind that created the illusion of a living organism (with blood) or the illusion of large crowds of insects gathering there (eventually) as if for a rowdy beach-party.

P.S.More people are killed in Africa by mosquitoes than any other animal (including crocodiles & hippopotamuses) due to the threat of malaria in some regions.

3. The human corollary.  Beware of sticky traps’, the human corollary of which would e.g. be agnos ticism, atheism, atheism-evolutionism, spiritualism, astrology, freemasonry, cybernetics, secular-humanism, postmodernism, spiritualism, astrology, false cults etc. These forces, the ideological  ‘sticky traps’ of society, will draw you away from God and onto a sticky, lethal ‘surface’ from which you may never be able to escape. Jesus Christ has cautioned:

“For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.”  [Matthew24:24].

Beware Of Buyer's Remorse!

1. Caveat Emptor. This is a Latin phrase that is defined as,  “The principle that the buyer alone is responsible for checking the quality and suitability of goods before a purchase is made.” [Oxford Online Dictionary].

Two millenniums ago during His short tenure on earth, Jesus Christ has solemnly warned against the future emergence of false cults and bogus ‘messiahs’, or in the modern vernacular, 'snake oil salesmen’ posing as ‘saviours’ of the world:

“I have come in My Father's name, and you do not receive Me. If another shall come in his own name, him you will receive.” [John5:43].

Since that warning the world has been inundated with such bogus prophets, priests, messiahs, gurus, swamis, holymen, godmen, agnostics, atheists, skeptics, pagans, Darwinists, Marxists  tand postmodernists (even in some theological seminaries and churches) trying to tell us how ‘deluded’ Jesus Christ was.

Well, only a cursory glance at the resumé of Christ (as compared to that of those alluded to above) already exposes them for the charlatans they were or are … there simply is no con-test. Jesus has warned:

“And when he puts forth his own sheep, he goes before them, and the sheep follow him. For they know his voice. And they will not follow a stranger, but will flee from him, for they do not know the voice of strangers.”  [John 10:4-5].

2. Buyer's Remorse. Defined as, “A feeling of regret (a wish that you had not done something) after making a choice or decision.” (Cambridge Online Dictionary). Examples from the Bible:

2.1 Judas Iscarioth. “Then he who had betrayed Him, seeing that He was condemned, sorrowing, Judas returned the thirty pieces of silver again to the chief priests and elders … And he threw the pieces of silver down in the temple and departed. And he went and hanged himself.” [Matthew-27:3,5].

2.2   The forces of darkness ('princes of this world') who crucified Jesus Christ. "But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory.Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory." [1Corinthians2:8].

2.3 The Jews complicit in the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. "Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ. Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we doThen Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost." [Acts2:36-38].

3. No 'Goods Returned' counter. The last time I checked there will be no ‘Goods Returned’ counter in Eternity. A wise man has once written:

“The moving finger writes, and having writ, moves on; not all your piety or wit shall lure it back to cancel half a line, nor all your tears wash out a word of it.” [Omar Khayyam, 1048-1131 A.D.].

Behold He Comes ... Riding On A Cloud!

1. Middle-East Woes.  As much as we condemn the violence and regret the loss of life on both sides of the conflict, we are faced with the stark reality of a conflict between Israelis and Palestinians (and their ideological sponsors, the anti-Israel Muslim block) that is probably going to simmer indefinitely. Be that as it may, most Evangelical Christians today would probably insist that this conflict is part of many inevitable  eschatological precursors to the Se-cond Coming of Jesus Christ.

2. Daniel prophesied the coming Reign of Jesus Christ. “I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him.  And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed.” [Daniel 7:13-14].

3. Jesus Christ prophesied His Second Coming.

“For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be … Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.” [Matthew24:27, 29-30].

“In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.” [John14:2-3].

“I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.” [Rev1:8].

4. The beloved disciple John prophesied the Second Coming.Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen.” [Rev1:7].

”And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fier-ceness and wrath of Almighty God. And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.” [Rev19:14-16].

5. The prospects of the Wicked & UngodlyMany today are ashamed of Jesus Christ and in their foolish pride dismiss Him as a first-century religious fanatic arrested and tried for being a public nuisance. Jesus Christ has, however, warned:

“For whosoever shall be ashamed of me and of my words, of him shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he shall come in his own glory, and in his Father's, and of the holy angels.” [Luke9:26].

6. The Messiah. Any student of the Eschatology (the study of the end times) and the messianic prophecies of the Bible will soon discover that any person today purporting to replace Jesus of Nazareth as the 'messiah' would be 'barking up the wrong tree' so to speak. A focused study of Biblical prophecy will reveal that Jesus of Nazareth has arrived when He arrived at exactly that moment or window in history where all the Old Testament prophecies pertaining to the coming of the Messiah and New Testament events surrounding the birth and life of Jesus of Nazareth were in perfect 'prophetic conjunction', so much so that anyone who today aiming to present himself as the long-expected messiah would, for all practical purposes, have missed the prophetic bus by 2000 years, a bus that will not be coming around ever again.

The Religious Paradox Called Atheism

1. We believe in Atheism/Evolution.This statement is a dead give-away that Atheism is another religious belief system just like any other religion on earth; the word ‘believe’ being a typical religious supposition.

2. ”We do not believe in Absolute Truth.” This disingenuous stance is paradoxical indeed; read the literature and you will soon discover that atheists do not believe in Absolute Truthexcept for the absolute truth of Atheism.

P.S. Again the ever-present ‘believe’.

3. “We do not believe in God.” This is said as if supported by hard, indubitable and uncontested scientific fact; yet, in his next lecture the same atheist & scientist must concede that  scientists (i) only know about 5% of what is going on in the Universe (the rest i.e. 95% comprising ‘undetectable by scientific in-struments dark matter + dark energy’) and (ii) only know about 10% of what is going on in the oceans.

4. “We can be good without God.” Why would any atheist want to be ‘good’ unless goodness was a value worth pursuing, cherishing and emulating? Jesus Christ has said:

“A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.” [Matt12:35].

It thus stands to reason that people valuing ‘goodness’ as a trait worthy of pursuit would respect God and love Jesus Christ. So, why don’t they?

5. ”We defend peoples’ civil liberties.” Another Biblical value they espouse, so why reject God/Jesus Christ? God says

“Learn to do well; seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow.” [Isaiah1:17].

6. ”We support good causes & charities.” The Bible teaches

“And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.” [1Cor13:13].

7. ”We pursue happiness and aim to be good through moral & ethical decision-making based on reason, empathy and compassion for others.” Atheists do not believe (sic) in an ‘Afterlife’ and aim to lead a ‘full & flourishing life‘ in this life. Jesus Christ has said:

“The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” [John10:10].

Besides, the idea of basing moral & ethical decisionmaking on the concepts of reason, empathy & compassion without the Moral Compass of the Bible is totally unsatisfactory: What if the atheist wanted to use his ‘reason’ the way Hitler did towards the Jews, or his 'compassion' and ‘empathy’ for hardcore Nazi-criminals the way El Chapo would do for his comrades-in-crime?

8. Conclusion. It is hypocritical for the atheist to dismiss the Bible as false, redundant & obsolete and then go and sheepishly pursue just about every Biblical value in the Bible with such religious fervour and fanatical zeal, and, in so doing, thus enthusiastically affirming the veracity of Biblical teaching and the Judeo-Christian values handed down to us over millennia by the Holy Scriptures known as the Hebrew Bible (Old Testament) and the New Testament as embedded in just about every civilised justice system of jurisprudence today.

Behind Bars?

1. "There are no 'Moral Absolutes!'" Many an atheist, agnostic, modern suburban ‘neo-pagan’ or sworn secular humanist today are languishing behind the ‘bars’ of the intellectual ‘prison cell’ of atheism, agnosticism or  skepticism, for instance ‘bars’ of such alien beliefs as: “There are  no moral absolutes!” If so, then how can the speaker be ‘absolutely’ sure about it? In terms of his philosophy he may actually be lying to himself and not speaking the ‘absolute truth’ at all, in which case there may be such things as ‘moral absolutes’ after all. It would, however, appear as if atheists do not believe in 'Absolute Truth' ... except (ironically) for the absolute truth of atheism.

2. “There is no God!” Scientists today have conceded that they only know about 5% of what is going on in the Cosmos; the rest (95%) is composed of (‘unexplained’, ‘undetectable by astronomical instruments’) dark matter + dark energy. God may thus be obscured from their view or observations in the 95% of the Cosmos they cannot yet explain. Likewise, scientists have conceded that they only about 10% of the oceans have been explored and that 90% of the oceans are still veiled in obscurity. If scientists have, after these (so-called) 'millions of years' (sic) managed to get a handle on the oceans, how long is it going to take for them to get a handle on the secrets and dynamics of the Cosmos? Against such a murky academic and scientific backdrop what gives even the most learned and gifted of scientists even the remotest right to say, "There is no God!" (?).

3. ”There is no Life after Death!” Atheism is the textbook example for how a cult has embraced the religion of Death-after-Death. Should the assertion be true and valid that there is no such thing as life-after-death, then what would make murder, robbery, assault, theft, embezzlement, gangsterism, racketeering, crime, genocide, discrimination and racism wrong or immoral? Furthermore, if this is such an important tenet for atheists to uphold then why do atheists who are judges uphold in Jurisprudence the Judeo-Christian values (e.g. the 'Ten Commandments') that forbid these things? Are they then not indeed hypocrites in breach of their own moral code and principles?

4. “Life has no Purpose or Meaning!” Think about it ... if this were true then we would not have known about it. The very fact that we can even think about or contemplate this idea already demonstrates that life has meaning and purpose.

In his book, 40 Days, Alton Gansky writes how Harry Houdini, the escape artist,  had failed time and again for two hours to open the lock on a door to a prison cell. The secret was that the cell had never been locked in the first place. Gansky writes:

“Houdini worked himself to near exhaustion trying to achieve what could be accomplished by simply pushing the door open. The only place the door was locked was in his mind.”

5. Behind bars?  Here’s the deal: The door to the intellectual prison cell of ‘Atheism’ is locked from the inside; the only thing holding the atheist inside is his PRIDE. The Bible says:

“The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good." [Psalm14:1b].

"The wicked, through the pride of his countenance, will not seek after God: God is not in all his thoughts." [Psalm 10:4].

Because Jesus Christ Said So!

1. How do we know that Adam & Eve were the first two humans ever? Because Jesus said so!

2. How do we know that the ‘Noah’s Flood’ really happened? Because Jesus said so!

“And as it was in the days of Noah, so it also shall be in the days of the Son of Man. They ate, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark; and the flood came and destroyed them all.” [Luke17:26-27].

3. How do we know that Jesus was not sent to condemn the world, but to save the world? Because Jesus said so!

“For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but so that the world might be saved through Him.” [John3:17].

4. How do we know that God so loved the world that we can have Everlasting Life through Faith in Christ? Because Jesus said so!

7. How do we know that, unless we want to die in our sins, we have to repent and believe the Gospel? Because Jesus said so!

The time is fulfilled, and the king-dom of God draws near. Repent, and believe the gospel … I tell you, No. But unless you repent, you will all likewise perish.” [Mark1:15; Luke13:3].

8. How do we know that Jesus has risen from the grave? Because Jesus said so!

"And when I saw Him, I fell at His feet as dead. And He laid His right hand upon me, saying to me, Do not fear, I am the First and the Last, and the Living One, and I became dead, and behold, I am alive for ever and ever, Amen. And I have the keys of hell and of death." [Revelation:17-18].

9. How do we know that Jesus is coming again? Because Jesus said so!

“In My Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, so that where I am, you may be also.” [John14:2-3].

Beauty For Ashes

1. Beauty For Ashes. One day long ago in Old Jerusalem a young man of about the age of 30 stood up and read, echoing the words from the Prophet Isaiah in Isaiah61:1-3:

“And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read. And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias. And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written,
"The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.
"And he closed the book, and he gave it again to the minister, and sat down. And the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fastened on him. And he began to say unto them, This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears. [Luke4:16-21].

So, for the next two millenniums Jesus of Nazareth (the Christ) has been blessing those who dared to come to Him in childlike faith with exactly what the prophet of old had prophesied:

BEAUTY for ashes, the OIL of JOY for mourning and the GARMENT of PRAISE for a spirit of heaviness!

2. The Ashes of Atheism. Atheists complain for hours on end that the Cosmos offers no ‘design, meaning and purpose’ and instead, only ‘pitiless indifference’ (Dawkins). But, however, no wonder … they have rejected the King of Glory and holy Heavenly dispenser of Beauty, the Oil of Joy and Garment of Praise ... what else did they expect? When the atheist rejects Jesus Christ as Saviour & Lord, he is for all intents and purposes rejecting (i) Design (‘Beauty’), (ii) Meaning (‘the Oil of Joy’) and (iii) Purpose (‘The Garment of Praise’).
We see Beauty in the way the majestic and unfathomable Universe was Designed, Meaning since without the prospect of Heavenly Joy (in this life and the next) life will never have meaning and Purpose since the prime reason for man’s existence is for the donning of the Garment of Praise in worship of the Creator.
Without these priceless gifts from God, life in the Cosmos will inevitably prove forever without design, meaning and purpose, i.e. Dawkins’ bizarre and depressing (atheism-driven) world of ‘pitiless indifference’.

3. The Promise of Jesus Christ. “The thief [SATAN] cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I [JESUS] am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.” [John10:10-11].

4. Messianic Prophesy from the Old Testament anticipating the First Coming of Jesus Christ. The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound; Isa 61:2  To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn; Isa 61:3  To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified. … .” [Isaiah61:1-3].

Be Still And Know That I Am God

1. Proposition #1. God is the Ultimate Authority in the Universe; He is the Absolute & Infinite Creator who, when He wanted to swear by an authoritative Name, He has had to swear by Himself. [Isaiah45:23; Jeremiah22:5; Hebrews6:15].

2. Proposition #2. God’s ways and thoughts are infinitely higher and more exalted than anything man is capable of. For lack of a better description I insist that God has an (assumed) I.Q. of Infinity to the power of Infinity, or INFINITYinfinity. Philosophers may, on the other hand, prefer to refer to Him as ‘Mysterium Tremendum’ or ‘Mysterium et Fascinans’.

"For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts." [Isaiah55:8-9].

3. Proposition #3. The highest of heavens, yes, even the heaven of heavens, cannot contain God, demonstrating the futility of trying to prove either the existence or non-existence of God by searching for Him in ‘outer space’; one will not find Henry Ford in the engine compartment of a Ford automobile. [ 2Chr2:6; 1King8:27].

4. Proposition #4. God the Father is the Chief Justice in Heaven’s Courts of  Absolute & Infinite Justice. The only avenue of appeal to the Chief Justice is to appeal to God through Jesus Christ, the Son of God. Jesus Christ, however, will be the presiding Judge at the Great White Throne Judgment in Eternity. [Matthew3:17; 11:27; 19:28; John3:35; 5:22; 14:6].

5. Proposition #5. God is powerful, big and small enough to (i) number and name all the stars in the Universe and to (ii) fix each and every broken heart in the Cosmos. [Psalm147:3-4].

6. Proposition #6. God’s primary dwelling  place is known as the ‘The Father’s House of Many Mansions’ probably situated in what the Apostle Paul referred to as ‘Paradise’  or the ‘Third Heaven’. [Jhn14:1-4; 2Cor-12:2-4]. God also dwells with the contrite and humble in spirit [Isaiah57:15]. God’s Holy Spirit also dwells in the bodies (hearts) of believers. [1Corinthians3:16-17; 6:19].

7. Proposition #7. The Persona of God is Absolutely & Infinitely deep and complex, so much so that even the Spirit of God ‘searches (investigates) the deep (mysterious) things of God’. [1Corinthians2:10].

8. Proposition #8. God is humble of Heart. [Isaiah57:15; Zechariah9:9; Matthew11:28-29].

9. Proposition #9. God is powerful and gifted enough to e.g. call solid matter out of nothing. [Genesis1:1; Romans4:17].

10. Proposition #10. God is omniscient, omnipresent and omnipotent. [Job36:5;; Ps147:5; Pro3:19; Rev1:8; 19:15]. The atheist that thus  purports to prove that there is no God will have to:

- be present everywhere in the Universe all at the same time

- while, at the same time, knowing everything there is to know about the Universe and

- being ‘almighty’ enough to travel every square millimetre of the Universe expeditiously at the same instant to accomplish his ambitious mission.

11. Proposition #11. In this Cosmos (and beyond) there are 'secret things' and 'revealed things'. The Bible says: "The secret things belong to Jehovah our God, but the revealed things belong to us and to our sons forever, so that we may do all the words of this Law." [Deuteronomy29:29]. The secret things belong to God, so get over it.

12. Proposition #12. The ultimate irony is thus that only God Himself is in every conceivable way equipped with the scientific gravitas, stature, knowledge, wisdom, power and authority  to ever prove there is no God and (get over it): An eagle does not jump into a cage of its own accord.

Nazis Barking Up The Wrong Tree

1. The Barking Dog. Most of us are familiar with the analogy of the dog chasing the cat but barking up the wrong tree. No matter how effective he may be barking and how efficient his ‘barking ‘apparatus’ may be functioning, if he is barking up the wrong tree it is all in vain; the cat has long since escaped and is home free. Sadly, over the years many of us (myself included) may have been guilty of barking up wrong trees on one or more occasions all over the show; they say that to err (miscalculate) is human and to forgive is bliss.

2. The Art & Science of Miscalculation. An interesting case in point is the one involving Adolf Hitler, WW2 head of the Nazi Party and Führer of the Third Reich. This ‘sobriquet’ and all those 'hybrids' derived from it may have been grand in his heyday (1939-1945) but, in the meantime over the decades since WW2, actually have become the laughing stock of the world ever since. An example of Nazi 'ranks' among 'Nazi ranks':

Führer  (Adolf Hitler)

Oberstgruppenführer (General)

Obergruppenführer (LieutenantGeneral)

Gruppenführer (Major General)

Brigadeführer (Brigadier General)

Oberführer (‘No army equivalent’)

Standartenführer (Colonel)

Obersturmbannführer (Lieutenant Colonel)

Sturmbannführer (Major)

Hauptsturmführer (Captain)

Obersturmführer (First Lieutenant)

Untersturmführer (Second Lieutenant)

Oberscharführer (Senior Non-commissioned rank)

Unterscharführer (Equivalent to Sergeant)

Rottenführer (Equivalent to Corporal).

3. Hitler’s Miscalculation. Wikipedia lists altogether 42 plots (but only 22 actual attempts) on Hitler’s life before and during WW2 since 1932, culminating in the attempt by Claus Von Stauffenberg & Co. on 20 July 1944; it has failed probably due to the fact that, at the last minute, the conference venue was changed away from the Wolf’s Lair’s concrete bunker to an ordinary venue which may have diminished the impact of the blast, leaving Hitler with only a perforated eardrum (which didn’t really matter because he never listened to his generals’ advice anyway). Von Stauffenberg and his fellow conspirators were executed.

Hitler’s explanation (i.e. his classic miscalculation) for all these unsuccessful (probably ‘amateurish’) attempts was that his apparent ‘invincibility’ proved a special calling on his life from the ‘Most High’ to lead Germany and the Third Reich out of the ignominious humiliation of the Versailles Treaty following WW1 (1914-1918).

4. The Hard Fact. What he ought to have known was that, after so many failed attempts on his life by so many top members of his own ‘super race‘, he and his so-called ‘super race’ were not that super after all. The Bible says:

"Which yet my soul seeketh, but I find not: one man among a thousand have I found; but a woman among all those have I not found.  Lo, this only have I found, that God hath made man upright; but they have sought out many inventions." [Ecclesiastes7:28-29].
