Weerleggen van Zogenaamden Voorbeelden van Evolutie [DUTCH/NEDERLANDS]

[Voorbeelden van hoe evolutionisten gewone adaptieve omgevingsveranderingen bij dieren in de loop van de tijd proberen te verkopen als 'Evolutie' aan een goedgelovig publiek].

1. Voorbeelden van hoe Evolutie bijna gebeurde. Volgens de experts is "Evolutie de interactie tussen genetische veranderingen en natuurlijke selectie, ook wel bekend als de 'survival of the fittest'. Charles Darwin heeft op beroemde wijze verschillende soorten bestudeerd om te bepalen hoe aanpassingen aan de omgeving hen in staat stelden te overleven.” [YourDictionary]. Voorbeelden:

1.1 De Gepeperde Mot. "Deze lichtgekleurde mot werd donkerder na de industriële revolutie vanwege de vervuiling van die tijd ... de lichtere kleur keerde terug naar de populatie toen de vervuiling afnam." [YourDictionary].

👎 Er is geen ‘evolutie’ over ‘soorten’ (dieren) gebeurd; uiteindelijk was de gepeperde mot nog steeds een insect. Het veranderde niet in een ander soort insect of dier (heb je ooit een niet-insect in een insect zien veranderen?).

1.2 Felgekleurde Pauwen. “Felgekleurde pauwenvrouwtjes kiezen altijd de mannetjespauw met de felste gekleurde veren. De genen voor heldere kenmerken worden doorgegeven aan mannelijke nakomelingen, die ook een grotere kans hebben om een partner te vinden en hun genen door te geven.” [YourDictionary].

Dit veranderde de balans tussen man en vrouw, maar dat was binnen 10 generaties verholpen. Dit komt omdat de weinige mannelijke motten die immuun waren, leefden om zich voort te planten." 1.6 Hertenmuis. “Hertenmuizen waren vroeger donker van kleur toen ze voornamelijk in het bos leefden. Een deel van de bevolking splitste zich enkele duizenden jaren geleden echter af en vond een nieuwe habitat in de zandheuvels. Deze hertenmuizen zijn lichter en zijn in de loop van duizenden jaren geëvolueerd om bij hun omgeving te passen. Ondertussen zijn de donkere hertenmuizen beroofd van deze lichte genen en blijven ze donkergekleurde nakomelingen krijgen.” [YourDictionary].

1.7 Mexicaanse Grotvis. “Mexicaanse grotvissen hadden ooit ogen, maar in de grotten waren ogen niet meer nodig. Ze hebben ook hun pigmentatie verloren omdat ze geen camouflage meer nodig hebben van roofdieren. Dit is een voorbeeld van regressieve evolutie, de overtuiging dat 'als je het niet gebruikt, je het verliest' als het gaat om eigenschappen." [YourDictionary].

Volgens het Smithsonian Magazine zorgen migratiepatronen bij dieren (toegeschreven aan omgevingsfactoren) ervoor dat vissen zoals roze zalm vanuit de oceaan naar zoetwaterstromen zwemmen om te paaien waar warmere wateren eerder migrerende vissen veerkrachtiger maken, waardoor de vispopulaties decennialang stabiel blijven. 1.10 Bosuilen. "Met mildere winters in Finland vertoonde één populatie bosuilen de afgelopen 28 jaar een significante toename van bruinpluimuilen, volgens een onderzoek van Nature Communications uit 2011. De onderzoekers zagen de afgelopen 48 jaar ook een landelijke toename van bruine uilen. Het is logisch dat natuurlijke selectie bruine verkleuring bevordert: met minder sneeuw kunnen bruine uilen beter opgaan in het omringende bos, waardoor die vogels een betere kans hebben om te overleven en zich voort te planten." Naarmate de dagen korter worden, zijn de muggen genetisch geprogrammeerd om te overwinteren. Muggen aan de zuidkant van het verspreidingsgebied van de soort hadden zich al aangepast om de winterslaap uit te stellen op basis van het langere groeiseizoen. Maar nu gaan de noordelijke populaties ook later in winterslaap als de mondiale temperatuur stijgt.” [SmithsonianMagazine].

De term ‘genetisch geprogrammeerd’ vraagt trouwens om een Intelligent Genetical Programmer!

1.12 Gestreepte Slakken. "Donkere schelpen van gestreept slakken zorgen voor een betere camouflage in de warmere temperaturen in Europa, waar de kleur van de schelp niet alleen door genen, maar ook door lichaamstemperatuur wordt bepaald." [SmithsonianMagazine].

1.13 Sockeye Zalm. “In de Columbia-rivier migreren sockeye-zalmen (Oncorhynchus nerka) elk jaar vroeger in de lente en vroege zomer om te paaien … Evolutie als reactie op hogere watertemperaturen bleek de meest waarschijnlijke verklaring voor ongeveer tweederde van de verschuiving, terwijl individuele aanpassing aan rivierstromingsveranderingen zou de rest kunnen verklaren.” [Smithsonian-Magazine].

Bij rode eekhoorns geldt: hoe meer kegeltjes vrouwtjes eten in de herfst, hoe eerder ze bevallen... De geboortetijd kan een beetje variëren, maar het team stelt dat de gegevens alleen kunnen worden verklaard als ten minste een deel van de verschuiving wordt toegeschreven aan erfelijke veranderingen die zijn geërfd generaties lang.” [Smithsonian-Magazine].

In het geval van de gewone fruitvlieg ... komen genetische varianten overeen met populaties die op verschillende breedtegraden leven, en specifieke enzymmutaties kunnen dienen als biomarkers ... Zuid-Australië is meer gematigd en tropisch, terwijl Noord-Australië is droog en heet. Het team ontdekte dat veel fruitvliegjes die in Zuid-Australië leven nu de genetische mutaties hebben die veel voorkomen in meer noordelijke populaties - alsof ze bijna 4 graden noorderbreedte zijn verplaatst. Wetenschappers suggereren dat deze veranderingen verband houden met het omgaan met een warmer en droger klimaat en onderzoekers hebben vergelijkbare trends gevonden in Europa en Noord-Amerika.” [SmithsonianMagazine].

1.17 Honden kruisen. "Sommige hondenbezitters hebben geleerd om bepaalde hondenrassen te mixen en matchen, wat heeft geleid tot dergelijke 'producten' als 'labradoodles' (Labrador + poedel) en 'cockapoos'." [BusinessInsider].

1.18 Muizen kruising. "Als de Algerijnse muis (mus spretus) paren met de gewone huismuis (mus musculus), zijn de pups die uit dergelijke verbintenissen worden geboren nog steeds vruchtbaar en zal het ras immuniteit ontwikkelen tegen 'warfarine' (pesticiden)." [Business Insider].

"Zeeslakken 'stelen' (sic) genen en chloroplasten van de algen die ze eten; deze gestolen genen en chloroplast worden vervolgens opgenomen in hun eigen DNA, waardoor ze dagenlang kunnen leven van niets anders dan zonneschijn. Deze algengenen worden doorgegeven aan de volgende generatie naaktslakken, waardoor de 'traditionele evolutie' (sic) wordt omzeild." [BusinessInsider].

"'Stadsbedwantsen' zullen in de loop van de tijd een compleet 'aparte soort' bedwantsen worden dan hun 'grotbewonende neven' die een wasachtiger exoskelet en een sneller metabolisme zullen hebben ontwikkeld om hun natuurlijke chemische afweer te versterken." 1.21 Wolf & Coyote. “Een nieuwe hybride van de coyote en de wolf, of coywolf, die de afgelopen decennia voor het eerst opdook, komt nu massaal naar buiten in het noordoosten van de VS. Ongeveer 2/3 van het DNA van de coywolves is van wolven, terwijl nog eens 1/4 van coyotes is. De rest is van gedomesticeerde honden. Maar niets aan deze dieren is huiselijk. Ze zijn zelfs groter dan hun voorouders van wolf of coyote, met een gewicht van maar liefst 140 pond. Ze zijn ook sociaal, net als wolven, wat betekent dat ze de neiging hebben om in packs te jagen.” [BusinessInsider].

1.22 Een Visachtig verhaal. “Toen New Yorkers in 1929 begonnen met het dumpen van PCB's (een soort industrieel gif) in de Hudson River, hebben ze een groot deel van de wilde dieren uitgeroeid. Maar ten minste één soort overleefde - en bloeide. In de loop van een paar decennia (PCB's werden in 1979 verboden) evolueerde een vis genaamd de tomcod om het gif te weerstaan via natuurlijke selectie. Vissen met een speciale set genen die een belangrijk gif-afschermend eiwit vormen, waren de enige beestjes die de giftige aanval overleefden. Zij gaven op hun beurt hun beschermende genen door aan hun nakomelingen.” [BusinessInsider].

1.23 Invasieve Amfibie. “Ongeveer 75 jaar geleden besloot het Australische suikerbureau een handvol Zuid-Amerikaanse rietpadden van Hawaï naar Australië te slepen met het idee dat ze het land zouden verlossen van de suikerrietverslindende rietkever. Op hun nieuwe continent, waar ze hun natuurlijke vijanden niet hadden, explodeerde de paddenpopulatie onmiddellijk … deze padden breidden zich snel uit, waarschijnlijk vanwege verschillende adaptieve eigenschappen waardoor ze sneller en verder konden reizen. Als ze paren, geven ze hun langere poten door aan hun kroost.” [Business insider].

👎 Er is geen 'Evolutie' opgetreden tussen 'soorten'; uiteindelijk waren de padden nog steeds padden (heb je ooit een niet-pad in een pad zien veranderen of een niet-amfibie in een amfibie?).

2. Conclusie. Voor atheïst-evolutionisten om een 'wetenschap' te bouwen op 'niet waarneembaar-in-actie' fossiel bewijs dat zo oud en verouderd is ('miljoenen jaren' oud) en alleen wordt ondersteund door alledaagse biologische verwijzingen naar 'aanpassing' en 'soortvorming' in de natuur ( met andere woorden, totaal niet-verifieerbaar en nietfalsifieerbaar bewijs) en er vervolgens op aandringen dat mensen een 'gemeenschappelijke voorouder' delen met primaten is belachelijk.

Ik heb eens gezien hoe een paard, dat was opgegroeid in een veld met melkkoeien, de 'stap' van een koe had aangenomen na jaren van natuurlijke observatie van het lopen van koeien; een eigenaardige aanpassingen (en in sommige gevallen tragisch) maar toch een simpele aanpassing ... het paard 'geloofde' waarschijnlijk dat het een koe was. Om dat echter in een schoolboek 'Evolutie' te willen noemen, grenst waarschijnlijk aan waanzin.

Reken maar uit: de vele opmerkelijke overeenkomsten tussen de mens en de primaten (de mens is geen 'primaat') is het feit dat de mens en de primaten (en alle dieren trouwens) geen 'gemeenschappelijke' (wederzijdse) 'ANCESTOR' deel zoals de evolutionisten ons proberen te vertellen maar deel liever een 'gemeenschappelijke' (wederzijdse) SCHEPPER.

John Citizen's Cultural Predicament

▌JOHN DID NOT CREATE HIMSELF. John knows he did not create himself. For instance, he did not choose his era, date of birth, country, parents, biological make-up, race, nationality, mother-tongue … not even his own name!
John also realises that he does not belong to himself. The fact is that he had just woken up one morning (on his birthday!) to find himself in the wonderful world of who-knows-where to be nursed and raised by two people (he was lucky) called his 'mom' and 'dad'. Just unceremoniously ‘dumped’ into the Milky Way galaxy without prior notice, i.e., no dress rehearsal, no preparation, no nothing. In retrospect, it is obvious that, if he did not belong to himself, he had to belong to someone else … but to whom?

▌JOHN IS BEING HAUNTED BY MANY QUESTIONS. Haunted by many questions, John’s world has become tough for him to mentally navigate. Examples:

♦ Why is there something instead of nothing?

♦ Where do I come from?

♦ Why am I here?

♦ Where am I going?

♦ Is there hope for planet Earth?

♦ How can I know the difference between right and wrong?

♦ Is there still hope for humanity?

▌JOHN FEELS ‘IMPRISONED’. John has also been feeling ‘imprisoned lately’, e.g., imprisoned:

♦ in the Cosmos!

♦ in the Milky Way Galaxy!

♦ in the (local) Solar System!

♦ on planet Earth!

♦ on his continent!

♦ in his country!

♦ in his state/province/county!

♦ in his city/town/village!

♦ in his family!

▌HELPING JOHN ANSWER HIS MANY QUESTIONS. For instance:

►Why is there Something instead of Nothing? There is ‘something’ (a Universe, a world) instead of ‘nothing’ because God created it in the beginning:

“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.”

[Genesis1:1MKJV].

The very majesty, scope, dimensions and beauty of this unfathomable, albeit terrifying, Universe affirms the fact of an intelligently designed, managed and maintained (i.e., orderly) Cosmos and not a (disorderly) ramshackle Chaos.

►Where did John come from? John is, regardless of his nationality, culture, gender and religion, here because he was in the beginning [Genesis1:1] created by God:

“And He has made all nations of men of one blood to dwell on all the face of the earth, ordaining fore-appointed seasons and boundaries of their dwelling.”

[Acts17:26MKJV].

►Why is John here? John is here to, in God’s ideal world (irrespective of his race, skin tone, tribe, clan, caste, gender or socio-economic status) by the grace of God become a member of the holy ‘priesthood’ in the Gospel’s ‘House of Faith’ for all believers in Jesus Christ:

“But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for possession, so that you might speak of the praises of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.”

►How must John decide between Right & Wrong? John only must follow the prescripts and values of God as articulated in the Bible (Hebrew Bible +New Testament: The Ten Commandments & the Gospel of Jesus Christ). God has given John a choice:

“I call Heaven and earth to record today against you. I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing. Therefore, choose life, so that both you and your seed may live.”

[Deuteronomy 30:19MKJV].

►Where is John going? If John fears, honours, and obeys God, his name will be written in God’s ‘Book of Remembrance’:

“Then those fearing Jehovah spoke together, each man to his neighbor. And Jehovah listened and heard. And a book of remembrance was written before Him for those who feared Jehovah, and for those esteeming His name.”

[Malachi3:16].

Psa69:28 "Let them be blotted out of the Book of Life, and not be written with the righteous ...

Only Two Kinds of People

▌INTRODUCTION. Some people say there are only three kinds of people, i.e., those who can count and those who cannot. Other variations on the theme of only ‘two kinds’ of people:

♦ Those who have jobs and those who do not.

♦ Those who vote during national elections and those who do not.

♦ Those who “like Neil Diamond and those who do not” (Bob Murray) etc.

Others say there are five kinds of people:

♦ Wise

♦ Unwise

♦ Clockwise

♦ Anti-clockwise

♦ Otherwise.

▌THE DAY JESUS CHRIST DIED. On the day Jesus Christ was crucified for the sins of the world, there were two ‘evildoers’ crucified alongside Him; one on His left and one on His right side. Whereas the one evildoer chose to mock and ridicule Jesus, the other one chose to show compassion and de-fend Jesus, eliciting the immortal words from Jesus as taken up in the New Testament: “Truly I say to you, Today you shall be with Me in Paradise.” [Luke-23:43MKJV]. For all intents and purposes, these words, spoken in one single sentence, instantly reduced that ‘kind’ evildoer’s death sentence to a ‘life sen-tence’ … Eternal Life! Some theologians have said that, although being so holy and with God being hard to satisfy, He nevertheless is easy to please. The Bible says that mercy exults over judgment: “For he who has shown no mercy shall have judgment without mercy, and mercy exults over judgment.” [James2:13MKJV].

Imagine the power of a series of intelligible words, encapsulated in a ‘sen-tence’ comprising rational thought with a specific message uttered by authori-ty of such divine and moral gravitas, that it could change a man’s destiny so dramatically on that level … no wonder it is called a ‘sentence’: Words can ‘sentence’ (verb) people to either ‘heaven’ or ‘hell’ depending on the intent, gravity and nature of the message it contains. Again, no wonder Jesus Christ so seriously admonished His audiences and followers always to rather bless than curse others.

▌THE WORLD TODAY. Come to think about it, in the world today people are polarised in numerous ways, for instance:

♦ Conservative vs. liberal.

♦ Republican vs. Democrat.

♦ Far Right vs. Extreme Left.

♦ Freemarket/Capitalist vs. Socialist/Communist.

♦ Brexit vs. Anti-Brexit

♦ Vaccinated vs. Unvaccinated/Non-vaccinated

♦ Religious vs. Irreligious

♦ Atheist vs. Theist

♦ Intelligent Design/Biblical Creationism vs. Random/Brainless Darwinian Creationism

♦ Pro-Life vs/ Pro-Choice etc.

▌THE FAITH COMMUNITIES. In the arena of the world religions the doctrines of the various religions usually will be explained articulately in the tenets of such movements and that is to respected. In the world of the Judeo-Christian faith comprising the Hebrew Bible (Old Testament) and the New Testament, Christians in particular will experience society comprising those members who:

♦ accept the historicity of the Bible as the ultimate Moral Compass given to mankind from the Higher Authority of YHWH (the Jehovah of Moses, the Torah and the Ten Commandments) through the Jews to the world at large vs. those who do not;

♦ fear God (the beginning of wisdom and knowledge) [Job28:28; Proverbs-1:7] vs. those who do not.

♦ decent and kind vs. not decent and brutal/cruel;

♦ who believe that all people are born naked and illiterate little savages whose ‘tabula rasa’ minds have to be nurtured, educated and disciplined for them to be raised as responsible, useful citizens vs. those who believe that all people are born and (to begin with) raised as basically ‘good’;

♦ who accept the Bible as the Word of God vs. those who do not;

♦ who accept Jesus Christ as Saviour of the world and the Messiah of the Jews vs. those who do not;

♦ who believe in and anticipate the Second Coming of Jesus Christ vs. those who do not;

♦who eagerly look forward to the New Heaven and New Earth as promised in Chapters 21-22 of the Book of Revelation (New Testament) vs. those who do not;

♦ who believe the doctrine of the Great White Throne Judgment (from the Book of Revelation) vs. those who do not;

♦ who believe that the blood and vicarious sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross of Calvary (Golgotha) have the power to regenerate sinners spiritually for them to be saved vs. those who do not;

♦ who believe in Intelligent Design and an Intelligent Designer (the Creator) vs. those who believe in random, accidental and brainless Darwinian Creatio-nism/Evolutionism (‘Scientific Pantheism’);

♦ who believe in Life-after-Death vs. those (atheists) who believe in Death-after-Death, etc.

▌THE WISDOM OF JESUS CHRIST. This ‘polarization’ between people was thoroughly understood by Jesus Christ and He even ventured into explaining why there is evil in the world:

“For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but so that the world might be saved through Him. He who believes on Him is not condemned, but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only-begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation, that the Light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than the Light, because their deeds were evil. For everyone who does evil hates the Light, and does not come to the Light, lest his deeds should be exposed. But he who practices truth comes to the Light so that his works may be revealed, that they exist, having been worked in God.”

[John-3:17-21MKJV].

In His remarkable ‘Sermon on the Mount’ Jesus also went on to remind His disciples that in time to come the world would yet grow increasingly more ‘polarized’ as ever before, e.g.:

“And He opened His mouth and taught them, saying, Blessed are the poor in spirit! For theirs is the kingdom of Heaven. Blessed are they that mourn! For they shall be comforted. Blessed are the meek! For they shall inherit the earth. Blessed are they who hunger and thirst after righteousness! For they shall be filled. Blessed are the merciful! For they shall obtain mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart! For they shall see God. Blessed are the peacemakers! For they shall be called the sons of God. Blessed are they who have been persecuted for righteousness sake! For theirs is the kingdom of Heaven. Blessed are you when men shall revile you and persecute you, and shall say all kinds of evil against you falsely, for My sake. Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for your reward in Heaven is great. For so they persecuted the prophets who were before you."

▌THE ULTIMATE CHOICE. Even as far back as the Old Testment God has always given people a choice. He said:

“I call Heaven and earth to record today against you. I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing. Therefore, choose life, so that both you and your seed may live … Come now, and let us reason together, says Jehovah; though your sins are as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall be like wool. If you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land; but if you refuse and rebel, you shall be devoured with the sword; for the mouth of Jehovah has spoken.”

The Error of Indiscriminate Labour Union Protest Action in a Freemarket Driven Economy Where the Consumer is King

▌CONTEMPLATING PROTEST ACTION? Is your organisation contemplating labour union driven mass action? If so, think twice. South Africa is (in this respect) a ‘free country’, so strike if you must or believe that strike action can help your cause. Always remember, however:

♦ South Africa is a long way from the Americas, Europe and Asia: It may halt multinational investment in your country and its industries.

♦ It may hurt your company’s future prospects for business contracts.

♦ It may cost your firm its established customer base.

♦ It may reduce your firm’s sales and/or exports.

♦ It may kill the goose that lays the very golden egg (i.e., the production, sales, turnover, income and profits) required to finance the very bonus, wage increase or promotion you are clamouring for and protesting about.

♦ It may affect your remuneration negatively.

♦ It may cost you your job, your medical benefits, accident cover, housing etc. and other perks offered by your firm; make you homeless and unemployed for years on end

♦ It may finally force your company into liquidation and close it down permanently.

▌WAGES, WAGE INCREASES, PERFORMANCE BONUSES, PROMOTIONS & JOBS. Always bear in mind that wages, wage increases, performance bonuses, promotions & jobs (including new jobs) are financed by the organisation’s PROFITS, and not by its TURNOVER. Without profits there can be no wages, increases, jobs or even any new jobs. It stands to reason that the turnover must be commensurate with the firm’s size and scope to make the kind of profits that will sustain the employee complement, but, in the final analysis it is all about profits, the very thing socialists usually (mysteriously) complain about most. Without profits there can be no wages, wage increases, jobs, performance bonuses, promotions, let alone any new jobs.

▌MINIMUM WAGE LAWS. Many workers believe that minimum wage laws will protect them against exploitation and poverty, but it may not necessarily be the case. The ‘minimum wage’ phenomenon can be a very risky institution in the modern workplace for a number of reasons:

♦ In the first place does it keep entry-level candidates (school leavers, matriculants, the unemployed & homeless so desperately in need of vocational exposure, hands-on experience and the opportunity to inculcate the kind of work ethic that could make them marketable for future positions) away from and out of industry.

♦ It may force employers into large-scale mechanisation in order to afford the minimum wage wage-bill already in existence and to stay in competition with its concurrents and competitors in the market (locally and internationally) with the inevitable lay-offs in the labour force.

♦ It makes it difficult, if not impossible, for any kind of employer to employ people or keep the labour already in its employ at a wage the employer can afford to pay, bearing in mind that wages come out of profits, not out of turnover.

Be honest: If you are (or were you) unemployed, would you rather sit at home unemployed waiting for the phone to ring, or would you rather be employed somewhere in industry at a wage the employer reckons he can afford, where you can pick up industry exposure and work experience while inculcating a work ethic that will stand you in good stead in time to come?

Imagine leaving the firm after a few years of industry and work-related experience with a CV (Curriculum vitae/Resumé) in your hand and a testimonial from your employer to be proud of. All this could be possible were there not such a things as the selfish institution of ‘minimum wages’. There are ways such as professional registration, industry norms etc. for workers to protect their skills and jobs other than dysfunctional and selfish minimum wage laws. In her research article, ‘The Effects of Minimum Wages on Youth Employment and Income’, Charlene Marie Kalenkoski writes:

“Evidence shows that minimum wages reduce employment and create unemployment among young unskilled workers. While some youths will benefit from higher current earnings, others will not find work, delaying labor market entry and reducing lifetime incomes. Without a ‘sub-minimum training wage’ for entry-level workers, employers may limit on-the-job training, which will also reduce lifetime incomes. Instead of a minimum wage, policymakers should use less distortionary means to support young unskilled workers, such as cash or in-kind assistance.”

(IZA, World of Labor, March 2016).

Kalenkoski lists four major negative consequences of minimum wages for youth employment:

♦ ”In a competitive labor market for young unskilled workers, minimum wages reduce youth employment.”

♦ ”A minimum wage reduces lifetime income by delaying the labor market entry of youths who fail to obtain jobs at the higher (minimum) wage."

♦ “Minimum wages create youth unemployment by increasing the number of job seekers and reducing the number of jobs available.”

♦ ”Minimum wages reduce on-the-job training opportunities and thus youths’ lifetime income.”

Do you really think, with South Africa’s unemployment situation as it stands, that minimum wages are making a contribution to help people into employment?

“The results of the Quarterly Labour Force Survey (QLFS) indicate that the number of employed persons increased by 258 000 to 16,2 million in the first quarter of 2023 compared to the fourth quarter of 2022. The number of unemployed persons increased by 179 000 to 7,9 million during the same quarter.16 May 2023.”

The gist of the story: It doesn’t require a genius to realise that industry on all levels should be taking in trainees, interns, learners and of all kinds all over the country (and outside) to address the problem of massive unemployment with the freedom to decide on a wage they can afford to pay with industry norms, and not Minumum Wage Law, dictating such wages. The time is past for exclusivity in the labour market in order just to appease unionized workers and help any sitting government (no names, no pack-drill) with votes during the next national election stay in power.

▌THE DYSFUNCTIONALITY OF INDISCRIMINATE PROTEST ACTION. Let’s face it, after the protests and the violence, the destruction that usually follow in the wake of public demonstrations, negotiations, an amicable agreement may very well follow. Your employer may (if you are lucky) actually decide to forgive and forget, even shake your hand and speak to you again. The problem is, however, that the consumer won’t forget.

After the debilitating SAPO strike of some years back, many people never went back to the SAPO again. Even my bank dropped the SAPO for an in-house courier to deliver its mail. The consumer, not your employer, is king and will not forget, may never forgive. ‘Hell’ has no fury as a consumer scorned … once bitten forever shy.

So, here’s the deal: Protest if you must, but never interfere with production and the normal flow of business. The show must go on, because it is the show that, from its profits and not from its turnover (assuming there are profits) will have to pay your wages, wage increases, performance bonuses and other perks provided by your firm. You decide … did strike action of the past (including so-called ‘legal, protected’ strikes) increase or diminish your firm’s profits?

▌EXAMPLE OF THE 2022 TRANSNET STRIKE. On 15 November 2022, Mail & Guardian reported as follows under the heading, 'South Africa's strike law fails to balance competing interests':

“While the strike is over, the crippling effect on the economy, especially those hubs centred around port activities in Durban, Richards Bay, Gqeberha and Cape Town, will be felt for much longer. The chief executive for the South African Association of Freight Forwarders, Dr Juanita Maree, estimates that the strike cost R7-billion in logistics costs and that a restoration of normal function “will only happen in early 2023”.

“She estimated that South Africa lost the opportunity of moving R65.3-billion worth of goods.Neighbouring harbours in Namibia and Mozambique picked up new business, and may reap the benefit of continued trade in the future.

“The Mineral Council of South Africa estimates that the strike cost its members about R815-million a day in export revenue. Simply put, Transnet was unable to rail and load about 370 000 tonnes of iron ore, coal and manganese onto ships for international markets.”

▌SOUTH AFRICA IN GENERAL. Writes Mlungisi Tenza LLB LLM LLD Senior Lecturer, University of KwaZulu-Natal:

“Violent and lengthy strikes have devastating effects on the economy, cause injury to members of the community and non-striking workers, and more particularly poverty as employers would retrench workers if their businesses do not make profit as a result of prolonged non-production. In the mining sector where strikes are a common feature, it has been reported that employers have lost billions of rands through lengthy and violent strikes ….

”The most prominent strike which nearly brought the platinum industries to its knees was the strike convened by AMCU in 2014. The strike started on 23 January 2014 and ended on 24 June 2014. It affected the three big platinum producers in the Republic, which are the Anglo American Platinum, Lonmin Plc and Impala Platinum. It was the longest strike since the dawn of democracy in 1994. As a result of this strike, the platinum industries lost billions of rands.²⁹ According to the report by Economic Research Southern Africa, the platinum group metals industry is South Africa's second-largest export earner behind gold and contributes just over 2% of the country's Gross Domestic Product (GDP).³⁰ The overall metal ores in the mining industry which include platinum sells about 70% of its output to the export market while sales to local manufacturers of basic metals, fabricated metal products and various other metal equipment and machinery make up to 20%.³¹ The research indicates that the overall impact of the strike in 2014 was driven by a reduction in productive capital in the mining sector, accompanied by a decrease in labour available to the economy. This resulted in a sharp increase in the price of the output by 5.8% with a GDP declined by 0.72 and 0.78%.³²…

“South Africa's primary source of income is through employment; the state relies heavily on the income taxes it collects from employed people. The implication is that unemployment has a negative effect on the state while if more people are employed, their income tax will add to the government's coffers. Unemployment means that people are unable to support themselves and their families, conversely the state has an obligation of ensuring that such people sustainable means in the form of social assistance."³

▌SUMMARY.

1. Jobs, wages, wage increases, performance bonuses, perks, promotions and new jobs are funded by a company’s PROFITS, not by its turnover. No PROFITS … no jobs, no wages, no wage increases, no perks, no promotions etc.

2. The CONSUMER is KING, not your boss nor the owner of the firm. The CONSUMER will decide whether your firm’s product(s) is/are worth buying in terms of product quality, functionality (fit-for-purpose), availability and price. Remember this adage when you decide to strike: “Hell hath no fury as KING CONSUMER scorned.”

3. The moral of the story is: Strike if you really must, but NEVER interfere with production. The SHOW must go on because it is the SHOW that lays the golden egg that will have to fund the very thing you are striking about.

4. As far as government is concerned, remember that state capture and government fraud are not committed by so-called ‘crony capitalists’. Government corruption is not crony capitalism, but SOCIALISM in the guise of capitalism: It is the covert, criminal, clandestine and shrouded redistribution of the ‘fruits of production’ unlawfully, also lately referred to as 'Corporatism' which should never be confused with Capitalism or a genuine Freemarket* driven economy.

*'Freemarket': This does not mean the freedom to steal or cheat in the market, but to produce goods and services freely in a competitive economic environment without undue interference from government except for (legitimate!) safety and security reasons. This is critically important, as government does not produce jobs; the market does, and the freer the market the more the jobs that will be created.

Bouw Je Huis Op De Rots Der Eeuwen (DUTCH/NEDERLANDS)

1. De niet-verifieerbaarheid van het Klassieke (Atheïstische) Darwinisme. Om het Klassieke (Atheïstische) Darwinisme te bevestigen en zijn wilde beweringen (theorieën, meningen) over de geschiedenis en oorsprong van de Kosmos en ook de beweringen van evolutionisten over de oorsprong en ouderdom van de aarde te verifiëren, zullen sceptici 'miljarden van jaren' in het verleden om 'kosmische' of 'stellaire evolutie' te verifiëren.

Evenzo zullen sceptici, om de beweringen van evolutionisten over de ‘antropologische en biologische’ oorsprong en leeftijd van de mensheid te bevestigen, ‘miljoenen jaren’ in het verleden moeten reizen om de waarheidsgetrouwheid te verifiëren van theorieën die zijn gebaseerd op paleontologische opgravingen en fossielen. Hoe deze niet-verifieerbaarheid en niet-falsifieerbaarheid kan worden aanvaard als 'onweerlegbaar waarneembaar en meetbaar empirisch bewijs gebaseerd op de wetenschappelijke methode', verbijstert de geest.

2. De niet-verifieerbaarheid van het Darwinistische Schepping (Scheppende Theïstische Evolutie). Dit hybride wereldbeeld van een kruising tussen het Genesis Scheppingsverslag en het Klassieke (Atheïstische) Darwinisme blijkt zelfs nog oncontroleerbaarder te zijn om dezelfde redenen als eerder genoemd … en meer. Bijvoorbeeld:

2.1 Mocht het Klassieke (Atheïstische) Darwinisme onjuist (ongeldig) blijken te zijn, dan zal het Darwinistische Schepping (Scheppende Evolutie) van de baan vallen omdat het Darwinistische Schepping (Scheppende Evolutie) 'Evolutie' nodig heeft in zijn vergelijking om te overleven als een levensvatbare theorie.

2.2 Mocht het Klassieke (Atheïstische) Darwinisme waar (geldig) blijken te zijn, dan zal het Darwinistische Schepping (Scheppende Evolutie) opnieuw van de baan vallen, omdat het darwiniaanse creationisme (creatieve evolutie) een 'Schepper' in zijn vergelijking nodig heeft om te overleven als een levensvatbare theorie.

3. De Evolutie 'Catch-22'. Ideeën en theorieën over 'Evolutie' hebben zich verspreid, maar we kunnen gerust afleiden dat ze zich uiteindelijk hebben opgesplitst in de twee dominante wereldbeelden van Klassiek Atheïstisch Darwinisme en Darwinistisch Schepping (Scheppende Theïstisch Evolutie). Dus hoewel deze twee wereldbeelden proberen rond te dwalen door het ingewikkelde landschap van verontruste en verbijsterde academische wereld als bedpartners op zoek naar dezelfde 'ontbrekende schakel', zijn ze eigenlijk doodsvijanden, omdat:

- deze twee wereldbeelden sluiten elkaar uit en kunnen niet beide tegelijkertijd juist (waar/geldig) zijn.

- in termen van het 'geen eer onder dieven'-principe valt het Darwinistische Schepping (Scheppende Evolutie) toch elke keer uit de bus, of het Klassieke (Atheïstische) Darwinisme nu geldig (waar) of ongeldig (onwaar) zou zijn geweest.

3. Jezus de Rots. De Bijbel leert:

"Dan zal Hij ulieden tot een Heiligdom zijn; maar tot een steen des aanstoots en tot een rotssteen der struikeling den twee huizen van Israel, tot een strik en tot een net den inwoners te Jeruzalem ... Daarom, alzo zegt de Heere HEERE: Ziet, Ik leg een grondsteen in Sion, een beproefden steen, een kostelijken hoeksteen, die wel vast gegrondvest is; wie gelooft, die zal niet haasten." [Jesaja8:14; 28:16].

"De HEERE is mijn Steenrots, en mijn Burg, en mijn Uithelper; mijn God, mijn Rots, op Welken ik betrouw; mijn Schild, en de Hoorn mijns heils, mijn Hoog Vertrek ... De steen, dien de bouwlieden verworpen hadden, is tot een hoofd des hoeks geworden." [Psalmen18:3; 118:22].

"Gelijk geschreven is: Ziet, Ik leg in Sion een steen des aanstoots, en een rots der ergernis; en een iegelijk, die in Hem gelooft, zal niet beschaamd worden ... U dan, die gelooft, is Hij dierbaar; maar den ongehoorzamen wordt gezegd: De Steen, Dien de bouwlieden verworpen hebben, Deze is geworden tot een hoofd des hoeks, en een steen des aanstoots, en een rots der ergernis." [Romeinen9:33; 1Petrus2:7].

4. Jezus Christus de Rots waarschuwt. Jezus Christus heeft gezegd: “Een iegelijk dan, die deze Mijn woorden hoort en dezelve doet, dien zal Ik vergelijken bij een voorzichtig man, die zijn huis op een steenrots gebouwd heeft; En er is slagregen nedergevallen, en de waterstromen zijn gekomen, en de winden hebben gewaaid, en zijn tegen hetzelve huis aangevallen, en het is niet gevallen, want het was op de steenrots gegrond.” [Matteüs7:24-25].
